  • Jade Louise Ewen is an English singer, songwriter and actress. She began her career as a member of the girl group Trinity Stone, who eventually disbanded in 2007 without even releasing an album despite signing to a major label. In January 2009, she was approached to take part in the BBC casting show Your Country Needs You, the series that would help select the United Kingdom's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow. She outlasted five other acts to win the four-heat competition and earn the ticket to Russia, where she would sing the song It's My Time written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Diane Warren. The United Kingdom automatically qualified for the final as a Big Four country, and on the night of the final Jade dazzled the audience and the juries with her powerful performance. She finished in fifth place overall, the United Kingdom's best finish since 2002. After Eurovision, Jade joined the popular girl group Sugababes just as her second solo single was being released, replacing an outgoing member. They eventually disbanded in 2013 after releasing one album and achieving two UK top 10 singles with her as a member. Jade still continues to perform as a solo act.
