Moises Alou is a former outfielder. Alou signed with the Mets for one year for the 2007 season worth $7.5 million with an option for 2008 . In the 2008 off-season the Mets exercised their option on Alou's contract for the 08 season. Alou agreed to re-sign with the Mets. Moises missed the start of the 08 season when he took surgery on March 5, 2008. Then on July 9, Alou had a torn right hamstring playing in the minors with AA Binghamton in the Outfield area. Mets GM Omar Minaya said that Alou would need surgery and that will make him miss the 2008 season which ended his career on September 30, 2008.
