It turns out that our Troll friend, Torgo, is a MAGE. A strange mage of some weird tradition that I've never heard of. I was able to make out the words "Voodoo" in his pidgen English, but he kept mentioning something about a "Mate eat" and "Obtala". Whatever. The thing is, his spirits are... different than the ones that I've seen before. No elementals or nature spirits. They do the same work, but they are weird... I can't believe I'm saying this. Of course, they are weird... it's magic. He must be some sort of mystic adept or something, because when we were at the airport, he changed. He started to physically glow, and suddenly, he had a machete in his hand (God only knows where that came from) and was swinging it like an experienced Blood Arena prize-fighter. When the glow faded, he was back to his usual, insane self. All I know is that a mage is a good asset in any shadowrun, and if I'm going to continue to work here, I'll need some friends. Magical backup is always good. Maybe I'll pass his name along to some of my contacts, so that he can cover my back more often.
