Argyrosaurus (meaning 'Silver lizard', because it was discovered in Argentina, which is sometimes known as 'Silver land' (Greek argyros meaning 'silver' and sauros meaning 'lizard') was a genus of herbivorous titanosaurid dinosaur that lived about 70 million years ago, during the Late Cretaceous Period of what is now South America (Argentina and Uruguay).
