Octavius Papandick was elected leader of the Fusion Alliance following the resignation of Miranda Pisa Slater. He defeated Slater's Deputy Leader, Suzuki Constantine-Banks. Although the actual vote totals are unknown it is known that Papandick won 69%. Following his election, he changed the name of the party to the Conservative People's Party. He appointed Pia Turquoise Blue to be his Deputy Leader. In the February 2659 elections, Papandick won 24% and came in third place. The Conservatives also lost 10 seats in the Senate but managed to win the Athosia and Albiland governorships.
