He also announced his candidacy for Praetor. Inititial polls only showed him with about 12% of support. In the February 2659 elections, Papandick won 24% and came in third place. The Conservatives also lost 10 seats in the Senate but managed to win the Athosia and Albiland governorships. He resigned as leader on April 9, 2659, following the election of Pia Turquoise Blue.
