| - Gerry Finnegan, is a character portrayed by Robert Pine in the ABC crime series Castle. Finnegan, in the hyperbole of Esposito's ten words or less summary, "owns half of Park Avenue South", so when his daughter, Elise, in the build-up to "Fool Me Once…" declares she's found the man for her, he has a PI do a little discreet digging into this potential gold-digger. Sadly, Steven's past is breathing down his neck, and whilst pulling one last con, probably to pay for the lavish wedding, he is terminated by a party with a very vested interest.

And hits the mother lode. Steven, who seems to change his last name with greater regularity than his socks, is a con man with more fingers in more pies than Sweeney Todd. Elise knows him as Steven Lambert, but there's a near endless list of aliases, and, thankfully bloodless, crimes to go with each and every one. Elise won't forgive Dad if he is the cause of Steven leaving, so Gerry draws up a prenup which permanently dissevers Steven from the family fortune, and waits for him to storm out on his own. Steven, however, signs, and the passage of time brings Gerry round to the unthinkable - that this inveterate liar has truly fallen in love with his daughter, and actually wants nothing more than to make her happy. Sadly, Steven's past is breathing down his neck, and whilst pulling one last con, probably to pay for the lavish wedding, he is terminated by a party with a very vested interest.
