The organisation formerly known as the Fifth World Council (5WC) — Italian: Consiglio del Quinto Mondo; Interlingua: Consilio del Quinte Mundo — was an international association of Fourth and Fifth World nations without representation in any international organisation. The 5WC has served mainly as an experiment, an experiment which has produced an authentic Fifth World cultural explosion, and as a prototype for the more pragmatic, successful, less ideological and freer supermicronation called the United Micronations Multi-Oceanic Archipelago (UMMOA).

abstract
  • The organisation formerly known as the Fifth World Council (5WC) — Italian: Consiglio del Quinto Mondo; Interlingua: Consilio del Quinte Mundo — was an international association of Fourth and Fifth World nations without representation in any international organisation. The 5WC came into being on 13 July 2002, but was permanently closed on 24 February 2008. The international organisation had pioneered quite a few things, and some of its offshoots, the Micronational Professional Registry (MPR), the Fifth World Council Accreditation Agency (5WCAA), and Fifth World Health Organisation (5WHO) are still alive, and even very successful. The 5WC, however, has always had a problem with support, and by February 2008 it had become apparent that the organisation was neither growing, nor was it attracting any new members. The 5WC has served mainly as an experiment, an experiment which has produced an authentic Fifth World cultural explosion, and as a prototype for the more pragmatic, successful, less ideological and freer supermicronation called the United Micronations Multi-Oceanic Archipelago (UMMOA). Micronations which were members of the Fifth World Council, but which showed no interest in the UMMOA, still remained Micronational Professional Registry (MPR) members. The MPR, unlike the former 5WC, is not an international governmental organisation, but simply an independent international professional registry. Micronational Professional Registry and Fifth World Health Organisation professional members who were "5WC Nationals", and who had not yet shown any inclination to become either United Micronations Multi-Oceanic Archipelago (UMMOA) or Independent Long Island (ILI) nationals, were placed on probation with a "N.A." or Not Acceptable status, which if not converted by 24 August 2008 to a recognised territorial nation or micronation, will be grounds for cancellation from the professional album, for breech of MPR's deontological ethics.
