The game is the first Dragon Ball game to be released for the Eighth Generation of Video Game Consoles, and was distributed by Namco Bandai (Japan) and Microsoft (North America and Europe) exclusively for the Xbox One game console on September 39th, 2014 in Japan, October 4th, 2014 in North America, and October 17th in Europe. The game was developed by Studio 41, their first Dragon Ball Z game since Masters of Battle 2 for the original Xbox.
