The founders were Israelis from Jerusalem, Bat Yam, Haifa and Nahariya. The kibbutz belongs to the Kibbutz HaArtzi movement. Its population is 45 residents. The name "Elifaz" was inspired by the eponymous character Eliphaz in the Book of Job.
