- Brewster was the owner of a Turkey Farm near Walnut Grove. Brewster was there when Charles brought Carrie to pick out their Thanksgiving turkey for table. He waited while Carrie made her choice and joked that it might be Thanksgiving before she chooses one. Later when it was decided that the turkey Carrie she named "Tom" should be returned to his "Ma" and "Pa", Brewster was there with Grandpa Ingalls to see Carrie release him to join with his fellow turkeys.
