Number 47 is a somewhat invincible beast who works at debt collecting company Hundred & Spindle. The worm's job is to eat as much as possible, "repossessing" whatever he swallows. An advantageous side-effect of this is that Number 47 grows everytime he eats something, thus making him stronger and impervious to more attacks. Number 47 starts every job as a tiny ball and can grow to a colossal size, depending on the size of the target. Knuckles the Echidna proved to be too weak to prevent the monster from trying to eat the Floating Island and even the whole Chaotix Crew were easily eaten after an attack from below.
