- The Proximity Mine is a enemy-activated explosive device appearing exclusively in Multiplayer. It is carried only by Troopers, who each get one per life. It is very effective at taking a Hayden by surprise.
- [Source] Proximity mines were high-powered explosive packs with a wide explosive radius that used sensors capable of detecting shifts in air pressure to detonate the mine when anyone entered its blast zone. They could also be detonated with a timer or when a ship passed within the radius of an energy field around the mine. The only way to disarm a ground proximity mine was to crawl up to it and deactivate it. There were floating variants, which were deployed by Trade Federation starfighters during the Invasion of Naboo.
- The Proximity Mine is a weapon in Mafia III.
- Proximity mines are one of three types of mines found in GoldenEye, the other two being timed mines and remote mines. Proximity mines detonate whenever a moving object is within their range, making them perfect for taking out patrolling guards but wasteful for stationary objects.

- thumb|left|100px|Mina w GTA: VCS Proximity Mine – rodzaj miny występujący w Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars.
- The Proximity Mine is a weapon appearing only in Twisted Metal 4.
- The Proximity Mine is an explosive weapon featured in Perfect Dark. It can be attached to just about anything in the game, and will explode when anyone (including the thrower) ventures near, or an object is thrown near it. If stuck to an enemy, its functionality becomes more akin to the Timed Mine, albeit with a shorter fuse. The mines also explode when shot, like other explosive weapons, which can be useful to get them out of the way. The secondary mode is a Threat Detector, much like the K7 Avenger. Mines cannot be thrown in this mode.
- Like the Remote Mine and the Timed Mine, the Proximity Mine sticks to the first thing it hits. The Proximity Mine activates about three to five seconds after it is thrown away from the player's body, and it explodes when anyone comes within a 10-foot radius of it. Unlike the Remote Mines, the Proximity Mines will remain active if the player who dispersed them is killed. When "if best" is switched on, the Proximity Mine ranks as the joint worst weapon on TS1, on the same level as the Brick and other mines.
- Proximity Mines are for Agents who need something to cover their escape or to set up ambushes for their enemies. Proximity Mines are thrown like grenades, but they stick to any surface, projecting their detection range upon arming and emit a loud and a recognizable sound, giving a warning of their presence, unlike the non-Agent residents who aimlessly drive into their range. Mines also detonate, even in mid-flight, and thus can punish any foolish agent who thinks they're more like toys than tools.
- The Proximity Mine uses the plastic explosive C-4 with a motion sensitive detonator connected to it, while the outer surface of the it is able to stick to various areas. Deadly, and extremely loud, the Proximity Mine is is best used to neutralize various enemies within its radius of effect. With its loud explosive sound output, it is best used during combat situations or for ambushing the enemy themselves.
