Her father wanted nothing to do with her and did not even acknowledge her existence for the first few years of her life, dismissing her mothers claims, a local gang member who had slept with him for money, as make believe and having her thrown out of his office. In anger, she left the child outside his door and left when Menka was 7, vanishing in to the seedy underbelly of the Nar Shaddaa, never to be heard from again. Left with a child he did not even want but greedy and canny enough to see a profit when it was thrust in to his lap. He gave the child to one of his employees, the head trainer of an arena that he owned, in order to train her to become a combatant. Menka was forced to silence regarding her relationship to him and she was given a new last name in order to hide this fact. He did not even look at her when he spoke, as though she was not even there. It was a life changing moment for the red haired child and she would remember it for the rest of her days. It left inside her a hatred which would keep her going through the times ahead. The training itself was severe, she received no special treatment and was looked at as nothing more then trash. Her instructors were harsh and spiteful, pushing her to the limit time after time, taking a twisted pleasure in watching her struggle. Yet, rather then lie down and fold, she perservered and to the surprise of all of them she quickly got to grips with what they were teaching her. In a matter of weeks, she was sparring with other combatants, defeating those who had been there for years. Her raw determination enough to defeat her far more experienced opponents and her hate filled brown eyes were enough to unnerve anyone who crossed blades with her. It was not long before news of this reached her father which both surprised and angered him. He pushed her in to live combat in front of the crowds as soon as possible, hoping for her to be crushed in her first fight to the amusement of the horde who loved to watch the fights. Yet, that was not what happened as the young redhead won her opening fight to the amazement of the crowd, defeating a male three times her age and almost taking his leg off in the process. The ovation she received was mind boggling and as she saluted the crowd afterwords, she knew it was the start of something.Family
