He was invited by the Prelate Rhavas to his residence for a conversation over wine to which he accepted. While sympathetic to Rhavas' concerns over possible Halogai invasion, he was sanguine, as winter was approaching and even they did not campaign during the northern snows. Petinos was more perturbed when Rhavas informed him that the frontier forts defending from Khamorth attack were also being stripped by both combatants in the civil war. The tribesmen wandered where their herds led them regardless of the weather. However, there was little he could do and so led his forces out of Skopentzana the next day.
