| - Hokey Wolf is the smooth-talking title character throughout each cartoon. His main hobby in life was to outsmart and coax the clueless out of free meals or places to stay, much of which he seemed to do so with ease, despite possible consequences later on. Hokey typically wears his trademark green bow tie with white collar and a violet-colored hat. His personality would later be recycled for fellow Hanna-Barbera characters, Top Cat , and Yogi Bear who starred in a prime-time sitcom that ran from 1961 to 1962 that followed a very similar concept.
- Hokey Wolf is an animated series, produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions, that was created to replace the Yogi Bear segment for the third season of The Huckleberry Hound Show. Hokey Wolf stayed with The Huckleberry Hound Show for its final two seasons, from September 11, 1960 to December 1, 1961, for a total of 29 episodes. In 1992 the series began airing in reruns on Cartoon Network and in 2001 the series moved to Cartoon Network's sister channel Boomerang.
- Hokey Wolf is an anthropomorphic wolf, and a member of a Laff-A-Lympics, the Yogi Yahooeys.
- Hokey Wolf is a character who was introduced on The Huckleberry Hound Show after Yogi Bear left the show to become the star of his own series. Hokey (voiced by Daws Butler impersonating Phil Silvers' "Sgt. Bilko" character) and his sidekick, Ding-a-Ling (voiced by Doug Young impersonating Buddy Hackett), specialized in confidence games, much as Top Cat did.
- The initial creation of Hokey Wolf occurred when another follow-up segment was needed, because Yogi Bear's rising popularity in preceding appearances warranted a promotion to his own self-titled show. As a result of the change in schedule, Hokey Wolf had made its debut in the premiere of the third season of The Huckleberry Hound Show on September 11, 1960 and became a regular appearance afterward on this segment. Hokey's theme music for his segment of the show was composed by Hoyt Curtin and used an instrumental version of the refrain from Hail, Hail, the Gang’s All Here.
