Aqua Teen Hunger Force first premiered unannounced in the early hours of December 30, 2000 and later officially debuted on Adult Swim in the Fall of 2001. In 2005, he co-created the show Squidbillies, which is currently approaching its sixth season. His works mostly fall into the genre of surreal humor.[citation needed] In 2010 Dave Willis created Cheyenne Cinnamon and the Fantabulous Unicorn of Sugar Town Candy Fudge, a new television pilot for Adult Swim. The pilot aired on March 29, 2010, it is unknown if it will be picked up for a full series. Willis graduated from Wake Forest University and was station manager at Wake Radio. He currently resides in Atlanta, GA with his wife and two children.

While working with Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Willis first met Matt Maiellaro, with whom he would create many short films with and then eventually create Aqua Teen Hunger Force (ATHF for short). ATHF debuted on the then unnamed adult programming block in the early hours of December 30, 2000 with its pilot episode, "Rabbot," and would then officially debut on Adult Swim on September 9, 2001. Since then, ATHF has become the longest running,and one of the most successful shows on Adult Swim. Dave also provides many voices on ATHF, including Meatwad and Carl. Dave Willis is also the creator of Squidbillies, a show about anthropomorphic hillbilly squids, which first aired in October 2005. Squidbillies has just finished its third season (second season in production order) and was purchased for 96 episodes. Since its premiere,it has proven to be quite successful during its entire run. Dave's works mostly fall into the surreal genre, and he has stated that he was inspired by animator Don Hertzfeldt.
