Daidian Ruel† became the original Helknight when he publicly renounced Aroden and organized a group of soldiers and friends to avenge the murder of his wife in Westcrown in 4574 AR. Blocked from pursuit of those guilty by the powerful secret members of the Path of Grace he took justice into his own hands and began to hunt down and kill members of the secret cult. Jailed in 4576 AR he was rescued by his friends and then made impassioned speech before King Gaspodar of Cheliax who commissioned him to form a new knightly order, the Order of the Rack. By 4577 AR the Path of Grace was defeated and a grateful King Gaspodar gave Fort Rivad to be the knights' permanent home. He disappeared in 4589 AR never to be seen again.
