Inessato is a minor tradeworld in the Gusanno System, located on the very northern edge of the galaxy in the Border Regions. It started as an ultra-distant colony world of Italy and still retains much Italian and Mediterranean influence, infused with influences from the Aaltice and other cultures. Its cities are all walled; the planet is home to a few dangerous predators that usually emerge at night from the many cave entrances dotting its surface (in some ways like 76 Laniva D, but not nearly as overwhelming), including subterranean serpentine hounds known as "shredders." Otherwise, it is a very peaceful planet with pleasant year-round subtropical temperatures (in most latitudes) and fertile soil. Its extensive vineyards contribute greatly to its economy.
