Illegal Cards (イリーガルカード Illegal Cards?) are vastly powerful Battle Cards from Mega Man Star Force 3 that are only obtainable through Illegal Data. They all do not appear in the game's library, but their ID sorting is equal to the next tier of the series they come from (e.g.: Impact Cannon is placed directly after Heavy Cannon). Their names are written with a light blue color in the folder menu to distinguish them from normal Battle Cards. Illegal Cards mainly consist of stronger versions of normal cards (most with a "X" in the end of the name), Battle Cards from previous games, and cards that are just unobtainable through normal gameplay.

Illegal Data can only be acquired if the player finishes the battle with over 100% Noise, and if the player S-ranks a battle with at least 200% Noise, they may obtain multiple pieces of data at once. Some bosses such as RogueZZ may yield Illegal Data containing Giga Cards or Galaxy Advances, on rare occasion. At other times, Illegal Data may instead take the form of a Noise Fragment rather than any Battle Card.
