| - Our story begins out on the Atlantic Ocean. A flock of Wingull flies above the sky and a school of Popplio and their evolved forms, Brionne and Primarina, play and splash above the waves. A galleon passes by. On the ship were sailors who love nothing more than working and singing about sailing. Sailors: (singing) I'll tell you a tale of the bottomless blue And it's hey to the starboard, heave ho Look out, lad, a mermaid be waitin' for you In mysterious fathoms below On the quarter deck holding on backstay, was a brave young man named Prince Ash and his Pikachu and Charizard, who wore a metal collar with a Mega Stone that was black and blue in color. Ash had a Z-Ring containing an Electrium Z on his left wrist, and a Mega Ring with a Key Stone on his right wrist. All three were enjoying the ocean more than any of the sailors onboard the ship. Ash: Isn't this great, guys? The salty sea air, the wind blowin' in your face... Pikachu: Pi-Pikachu! Charizard: (growls with approval) Ash: (exhales) Ah, perfect day to be at sea! Close by was Jacob, Ash's closest human friend and advisor from Scotland. Jacob: Och, aye. Delightful. (cleans the fog from his glasses) As Ash went over to help a sailor tie up one of the sails' ropes, the sailor spoke up. Sailor 1: A fine strong wind and a following sea. King Drayden must be in a friendly-type mood. Ash: King Drayden? An old sailor spoke up as he was pulling out fish from the ship's fishing nets. Sailor 2: Why, ruler of the merpeople of the sea temple, Samiya, lad. Thought every good sailor knew about him. (winks) Sailors: (singing) Fathoms below Below From whence wayward Westerlies blow Where Drayden is king and his merpeople sing In mysterious fathoms below Jacob: Merpeople. Och! Ash, pay nae attention tae this nautical nonsense. Sailor 2: But it ain't nonsense, tis the truth! I'm tellin' ya, down in the depths o' the ocean they live. Why even the sea-type Pokémon know they exist! As the old sailor gestures wildly, a fish in his hand flops away and lands back in the ocean, relieved. Meanwhile, up above... Ash: Hey look, Jake! A pod of Lapras! Ash pointed, and there, right in front of him was a pod of Lapras, swimming and floating on the surface of the sea. One Lapras noticed the ship and swam right to it. Jacob and the crew try to remain still, but Ash seemed fond of it. Ash: Here, it's a pecha berry. Go ahead, try some. The Lapras sniffed at the berry and ate it. It looked quite pleased, and to show its gratitude, it cooed and snuggled up to Ash, who smiled and stroked along its face before going back to its pod. As Ash continued staring out at the sea, his Pikachu and Charizard walked up to join him. Ash: Y'know, guys, I wonder if there really are merpeople. Sailor 2: (walks up) Aye, there are. Why, even your Lapras there knows. All ye have to do is just believe, lad. Sailors: (singing) Heave ho Heave ho Heave ho Heave ho In mysterious fathoms below As the ship was leaving, many of the water-type Pokémon swam down in the ocean. "Pokéstar Studios Presents" Under the sea, the weed was greener, and Pokémon such as Mareanie, Toxapex, Lileep, and Cradily showed off their pretty colors. "Original Score by Alan Menken" They all swam until they finally reached a giant cave. "Produced by ?" Finally, through the cave was the beautiful sea temple called Samiya. "Written and Directed by ChipmunkRaccoon" On this day, it was the celebration of the temple's founding. Everyone - merpeople and Pokémon big and small - was on their way to the coral auditorium for the celebration concert. A fanfare played as a Horsea with a gold banner appeared. Horsea: Ahem. His Royal Majesty, King Drayden! The orchestra played a welcoming fanfare as everyone cheered for the King, riding on a shell chariot pulled by a beautiful and majestic Milotic. The King waved his trident and shot a spark into the chandelier with lights shooting in a beautiful display, with thunderous applause. Horsea: And presenting the distinguished court composer, Horatio Thelonious Ignacious Corphishius Sebastian! One trumpet played the fanfare for Sebastian the Corphish as he rode on a small shell chariot pulled by two Goldeen. Being modest, he threw a kiss with his claw. But he almost lost but regained control of his Goldeen before the two chariots met up. King Drayden: I'm really looking forward to this performance, Sebastian. Sebastian: (chuckles) Oh, Your Majesty. Dis well be de finest concert I have ever conducted. He continued as the King landed his chariot on his box. Sebastian: Your daughters - Dey will be spectacular! (loses balance, tries to regain control again) King Drayden: (chuckles) Yes, and especially my little Serena. Sebastian: Yes, yes, she has de most beautiful voice... (turns away and rides down) If only she'd show up for rehearsals once in a while... Down in the orchestra pit, everyone and Pokémon were tuning their instruments. An applause followed as a spotlight of lighting is shown on Sebastian as he made his way to the podium stand. Then silence soon fell as he landed his chariot on the stand, tucked in his shell like a suit, pulled out his sheet music and placed it on his music stand. Tapping his baton, he raises it, and the orchestra begins playing as the bubble curtain rises, showing six Clamperl props revealing the six daughters. Everyone gasped, including Sebastian in fear of knowing a certain mermaid was heading for trouble. King Drayden: SERENA!! The King's shout was so loud, it echoed throughout the temple. In another part of the ocean, Serena was exploring a sunken ship graveyard. Serena was a young mermaid, at least 16 years of age. She had beautiful blue eyes, a smile so nice you'll adore her, long honey-blonde hair, two pink shells covering her chest, and a shiny pink tail. Serena was exploring around the ships that were sunk, and was carrying a pouch of sorts. She was accompanied by an Alomomola named Sandy. Sandy: (in the distance) Serena, wait for me! Serena: Sandy, hurry up! Ya gotta come see this. Sandy: (catching up) Y'know I can't swim that fast. Serena: (points to a torn out sunken ship) There it is. Isn't it fantastic? Sandy was more scared than enthusiastic, but she tried not to show it, with little success. Sandy: Yeah... Sure... It-it's great. Now let's get outta here. (tries swimming away) Serena: (scoffs, grabs Sandy by the tail) You're not getting cold fins now, are you? Sandy: Who, me? N-no way. It's just, it, err... Looks - damp in there. Yeah. And-and I think I may be coming down with something. Yeah, I got this cough. (coughs unconvincingly) Serena looked through a porthole in the ship. Serena: All right. I'm going inside. You can just stay here and - watch for Sharpedo. (goes inside) Sandy: Yeah, sure, you go. I'll just stay here and - What?! Sharpedo?! Serena! (tries to fit through the porthole, but gets stuck) Serena... I can't... I mean, Serena help! Serena: (laughs) Oh, Sandy. (starts pulling her in) Sandy: (whispers) Serena, d'ya really think there might be Sharpedo around here? Unknown to any of them, a large shadow swam by. Serena: Sandy, don't be such a scaredy-fish. Sandy: I'm not a scaredy-fish. (gets pulled through porthole) Finally, the two began exploring. Sandy: (in awe) Wow. Serena: I know. Isn't it great? Sandy: Yeah, I'm really lovin' this. Excitement, adventure, and danger possibly lurking around ev'ry corn-- Suddenly, Sandy saw a skull, causing her to jump and crash into a pillar, causing a minor cave in. Sandy: Serena! She swam frantically away, knocking Serena away. Serena: Aw... Are you okay? Sandy: Yeah sure, no problem, I'm okay... Serena: (looks up) Shh. She swam up towards a gallery, with Sandy following close behind. Serena: (spies something) Oh my gosh. It was a human fork. She swam over, picking it up. Serena: Oh my gosh! Have you ever seen anything so wonderful in your entire life? Sandy: Wow, cool! But, uh, what is it? Serena: I dunno, but I bet Scuttle will. (puts fork in her pouch) Just then the same shadow from outside rolled by the gallery window. Sandy: W-W-What was that? Did you hear something? Serena: (distracted by a pipe) Hmm, I wonder what this one is? Sandy: Serena...? Serena: Sandy, will you relax? Nothing is going to happen. Unfortunately, she spoke too soon. Sandy turned around and saw a ferocious Sharpedo looming behind her. Sandy: (swims away as the Sharpedo prepared to attack) Sharpedo! Swim! We're gonna die! The Sharpedo chases them all around. Serena's pouch got caught on a piece of broken wood. She went back for it, just missing getting chomped at by the Sharpedo. The two friends head for the porthole. Sandy: Oh no! Serena pushed Sandy and herself out. The Sharpedo crashed through and chased them around and around a mast. Sandy got knocked silly, but Serena managed to save her. Then she led the Sharpedo into getting itself stuck on a hole on top of an anchor. As Serena started swimming away, Sandy looked over at the Sharpedo. Sandy: You big bully. (sticks out tongue) THBBBTTTT... The Sharpedo just snapped at her, which scared Sandy away. Serena: (giggles) Sandy, you really are a scaredy-fish. Sandy: (indignantly) Am not! Above the sea, on a small island, lived an unusual Wingull named Scuttle. He was odd because he had his own thoughts on humans and what human things were. He lived on a debris of rocks, ship pieces, and his nest was on a short crow's nest. Scuttle was humming a little tune and looking through his telescope. Scuttle: (sings) Hmm-hmm, 1492 Dah-de-dum, dee-do-do Rum-dim-dim, dee-do-dee-do Serena: Scuttle! Scuttle: (looking through the wrong end of the telescope, shouts) Whoa! Mermaid off the port bow! Serena, how ya doin' kid? (lowers the telescope to reveal Serena at wing's length) Whoa, what a swim. Serena: Scuttle, look what we found. (brings up her pouch) Sandy: Yeah, we were in this sunken ship. It was really creepy... Scuttle: Human stuff, huh? Hey, lemme see. The goofy Wingull dropped an anchor, whose chain got caught on his foot, and dragged him down on a part of his island. Temporarily dazed, Scuttle quickly righted himself and started digging through Serena's pouch, soon picking up the fork. Scuttle: Look at his. Wow! This is special, this is very, very unusual. Serena: (eagerly) What? What is it? Scuttle: It's a dinglehopper! Humans use these li'l babies... (nearly drops the fork but grabs it quickly) To straighten their hair out. (demonstrates) See, just a li'l twirl here an' a yank there and - voiolay! (his top feathers turn into a slight afro) Ya got an aesthetically pleasing configuration of hair that humans go nuts over! (passes the fork over to Serena) Serena: (takes the fork) A dinglehopper! Sandy: (points to pipe) What about that one? Scuttle: (holds pipe) Ah, this I haven't seen in years. This is wonderful! A banded, bulbous snarfblat. Serena/Sandy: (in unison) Oohhh. Scuttle: Now, the snarfblat dates back to prehistorical times, when humans used to sit around, and stare at each other all day. Got very boring. So, they invented the snarfblat to make fine music. Allow me. (blows into pipe, causing seaweed to pop out the other end) Suddenly, Serena realized something as Scuttle spat out the seaweed from the pipe and his beak. Serena: Music? (gasps) Oh, the concert! Oh my gosh, my father's gonna kill me! (places the fork back in pouch) Sandy: (gasps) The concert was today? Scuttle: (contemplates on pipe) Maybe ya could make a li'l planter out of it or somethin'. Serena: (takes back pipe) I'm sorry, but I gotta go. Thank you, Scuttle! (waves) Serena and Sandy dove back into the sea. Scuttle: Anytime, sweetie! Anytime! As Serena and Sandy swam in a hurry, two shifty looking Eelektrik twins crept from behind some rocks and observed them. As they did so, one of their eyes from their opposite glowed an eerie glow. As they focus on them, someone was also watching the two. In a murky cave, was a big bubble that displayed a picture of Serena and Sandy who were on their way home by using the Eelektriks' eyes. That someone was Lusamine. She was a beautiful but sinister sea witch. What made her different from the merpeople was that while she had human features on her top, the rest of her was part octopus on the bottom. Lusamine: (watching the bubble) Yeeeeeees, hurry home, Princess. We wouldn't want to miss ol' daddy's celebration, now, would we? Huh! Celebration indeed. Bah! As she continued talking, her hand reached a plate of cutout tentacles as they were hors d'oeuvres. Lusamine: In my day, we had fantastical feasts when I, the great and powerful Lusamine, lived in the temple. (eats the tentacles) And now, look at me - wasting away to practically nothing. Banished and exiled and practically starving, while he and his flimsy fish-folk celebrate. Well, I'll give 'em something to celebrate soon enough. (gazing at her bubble) Flotsam! Jetsam! The two Eelektrik responded to their mistress' command. Lusamine: I want you to keep an extra close watch on this pretty little daughter of his. Smiling, the two Eelektrik swam away. Lusamine: She may be the key to Drayden's undoing. Lusamine than gave a sinister, plotting smirk. Meanwhile, in the royal audience chamber, King Drayden and Sebastian were being firm with Serena, while Sandy watched the whole thing from behind a column. King Drayden: (sighs) I just don't know what we're going to do with you, young lady. Serena: Daddy, I'm sorry, I just forgot, I... King Drayden: As a result of your careless behavior... Sebastian: Careless and reckless behavior! King Drayden: ...The entire celebration was, er... Sebastian: Well, it was ruined! Dat's all. Completely destroyed! Dis concert was to be de pinnacle of my distinguished career. Now t'anks to you, I am de laughing stock of de entire kingdom! Suddenly, Sandy rushed into the throne room. Sandy: But it wasn't her fault! Uh, well, first, uh, this Sharpedo chased us. Yeah, yeah. And we tried to, but we couldn't, and... Grrrrrrrrr! And, and we - Whoooaaaaaa! Ah, and then we were safe. But then this Wingull came, and was this is this, and that is that, and... King Drayden: Wingull? What? Sandy realized what she said and hoped she didn't. So she tried to hide under Serena's long hair, who looked at the Alomomola like she was a tattletale. King Drayden: Oh! You went up to the surface again, didn't you? Didn't you? Serena: Nothing happened... King Drayden: Oh, Serena, how many times must we go through this? You could've been seen by one of those barbarians... By... By one of those humans! Serena: Daddy, they're not barbarians! They're... King Drayden: They're dangerous! Do you think I want to see my youngest daughter snared by the very creatures who took your mother away? Serena: But if you'd just listen... King Drayden: Not another word! And I am never, never to hear of you going to the surface again! Is that clear?! Serena was upset and swam away in tears, with Sandy swimming behind her. The King sighed and sat down on his throne. Sebastian: (scoffed) Hm! Teenagers... Dey t'ink dey know everything. You give dem an inch, dey swim all over you. King Drayden: Do you, er, think I-I was too hard on her? Sebastian: Definitely not. Why, if Serena was my daughter, I'd show her who was boss. None o' dis "flitting to de surface" and other such nonsense. No, sir. I'd keep her under tight control. As Sebastian was talking, King Drayden had the same idea. King Drayden: You're absolutely right, Sebastian. Sebastian: Of course. King Drayden: Serena needs constant supervision. Sebastian: Constant. King Drayden: Someone to watch over her, to keep her out of trouble. Sebastian: All de time... King Drayden: And you are just the Corphish to do it. Sebastian didn't like the idea one bit. He said so as he went down the corridor. Sebastian: How do I get myself into dese situations? I should be writing symphonies, not tagging along after some headstrong teenager. Suddenly, he spied Serena and Sandy with her pouch. They looked around as if they didn't want to be seen and swam away. Sebastian: Hmm? What is dat girl up to? Sebastian followed them almost half a mile from the temple. He could hardly swim another inch, until he spotted them going to a grotto that was shut by a large stone slab. Serena and Sandy pulled the stone out and opened the way in, the two looked and see if no one was around and quickly swam inside. Sebastian saw his chance and quickly swam in before the slab sealed the cave shut, but some of his legs got stuck. He pulled, and heaved and hoed but it was no good. He saw some kelp and pulled so hard that he rocketed through the cavern and bonked his head on an hourglass. Rubbing his poor head, he couldn't believe what he saw. Inside Serena's grotto was filled with human things - vases, pots, pans, dishes, trays, jewelry, toys, cloths, paintings, as if it was a museum. Then he saw Serena sitting down and Sandy looking aside her. Sandy: Serena, are you okay? Serena: If only I could make him understand. I just don't see things the way he does. I don't see how a world that makes such wonderful things... Could be bad. Then Serena started singing. Serena: (singing) Look at this stuff Isn't it neat? Wouldn't ya think my collection complete? Wouldn't ya think I'm the girl The girl who has ev'rything? Look at this trove, treasures untold How many wonders can one cavern hold? Lookin' around here, you'd think Sure, she's got ev'rything I've got gadgets and gizmos a-plenty I've got who's-its and what's-its galore You want thing-a-mabobs? I've got twenty But who cares? No big deal I want more I wanna be where the people are I wanna see, wanna see 'em dancing' Walkin' around on those Whaddaya call 'em? Wouldn't I love, love to explore That shore up above, out of the sea Wish I could be Part of that World As Serena gazed up where the moonlight hit the hole, she and Sandy heard a crash. Sandy hid in an armored helm as Serena saw... Serena: (gasps) Sebastian?! Sebastian was on a chest with jewelry and a gold ring, crawling out and shaking and brushing the jewels out of his legs and pincher. Sebastian: Serena... What are you... How could you... What is all dis?! Serena: (nervously) It, err, ahem, it's just my collection... Sebastian: Oh. I see. Your collection. Hmmm. (shouts) If your father knew about dis place, he'd... Sandy: You're not gonna tell him, are you? Serena: Oh, please, Sebastian, he would never understand. Sebastian: Serena, you're under a lotta pressure down here. Come with me, I'll take you home and get you somet'ing warm to drink. Just then, Serena saw a ship above her grotto with beautiful lights. Serena: Whaddaya suppose...? Serena, who couldn't resist knowing what was going on, decided to check it out. Sebastian: Serena? Serena! As Serena made it to the surface, it was night. She saw a ship that was shooting fireworks. Serena looked on, amazed, as Sebastian and Sandy arrived. Sebastian: Serena, what-what are you... (sees the ship, gasps) Jumpin' Jellicent! Serena then went towards the ship. Sebastian: Serena! Serena! Please, come back! Serena finally reached the ship. Climbing up a gangway, she saw a lot of human sailors and their Pokémon having a great party. Music was playing, and food and drinks were being served. And no one had more fun than Pikachu. He was having more fun than anyone. Charizard stood close by, as he wasn't much for partying. Just then, Pikachu stopped, and sniffed at something; something that he never smelled before. Pikachu: Pika-pika? (sniffs) He thought he saw something he'd never seen before either, so he decided to investigate. Serena gasped and hid behind the wall, hoping she wouldn't be seen. But she was - Pikachu had never seen a girl like her before. Pikachu: Pikachu! He became very fond of her and licked her on the cheek. Voice: Pikachu! Over here, buddy! Pikachu heard his master call, and ran over to him. Pikachu: Pikapi! As Pikachu attempted to show Ash what he saw, Serena gazed at Ash for the first time ever. Ash: Hey, c'mon, Pikachu. (tries to calm Pikachu down) Serena had never felt this way for a human like Ash before, especially since she was a mermaid. Voice: Hey there, sweetie! It was Scuttle, the Wingull. Scuttle: Quite a show, eh? Serena: Scuttle, be quiet! They'll hear you. Scuttle: Oooh, I gotcha, I gotcha. We're being intrepidatious. (shouts) We're out to discover! Serena grabbed Scuttle by the beak, shutting him up, as she watched Ash playing a flute while Pikachu was dancing to it. Serena: I've never seen a human this close before. (sighs lovingly) Oh. He's very handsome, isn't he? Scuttle: (looks at Pikachu) I dunno, he looks kinda small and electrical to me. Serena: (giggles) No, not that one. (points him towards Ash) The one playing the snarfblat. Just then, Jacob stepped into the scene. Jacob: (shouting) All reit, ev'ryone, SHUT IT! The music stopped, and everyone paid attention to him. Jacob: Thank ye. (adjusts his glasses) Nou then, to finish this momentous occasion, tis nou ma honor, an privilege, tae present our esteemed Prince Ash with a verra special, verra expensive, an verra large birthday present. He showed Ash a really big present wrapped in brown wrapping with a big red bow. Ash: Ah, Jacob, ya shouldn't have, big guy. Jacob: (sarcastically) A know. Happy birthday, Ash! One of the sailors pulled out the wrapping and reviled a marble statue of Ash in royal robes, holding a sword while one foot stood on the royal emblem, which was a "K". Ash gave a weird look at it, while Pikachu and Charizard showed a bit of dislike towards it. Ash: Gee, Jake. (chuckles uneasily) It's, err, it's, err, it's really somethin'... Jacob: Aye, Counselor Oak commissioned it himsel'. Of course he an A had hoped it'd be a wedding present, but... Ash: Oh, c'mon, Jake, don't start. Look, you're not still sore cuz I didn't fall for the princess of Cerulehaven, are ya? Jacob: (sighs) Och, Ash, it's nae just me, the Counselor, or your mother, the Queen, alone. The entire kingdom wants tae see ye happily settle down with the reit girl. Ash: Oh, she's out there somewhere. I just... I just haven't found her yet. Jacob: Well, perhaps ye haven't been lookin' hard enough, laddie. Ash: (chuckles) Believe me, Jake, when I find her I'll know. Without a doubt, it'll just - Bam! - hit me. Like lightning. Suddenly, lightning flashed through the sky, and the wind was blowing. The clear starry night had turned into a stormy night. Sailor: Hurricane a'comin'! A sailor up on the crow's nest called out. Sailor 2: Stand fast! Secure the riggin'! Every people and Pokémon on the ship was bracing themselves for the biggest storm they ever faced. Sebastian and Sandy were bracing themselves too. Scuttle: (holding onto some rope) Whoa! The wind's all of a sudden on the move here! (gets blown away) Serena...! The ship started crashing through the storm. Ash helped the captain with steering it. Serena slipped her hands from the gangway rails and splashed back into the ocean. Going back up to see how the ship was faring, she saw a lightning bolt strike one of the sails, which started a fire. Then everyone on board saw the rocks. Ash: Look out! Ash, Jacob, the crew and the Pokémon flew overboard as the ship crashed. Even the statue fell and sank. Everyone was getting onto their lifeboats, while Ash and Jacob rode on Charizard's back. Suddenly, Ash saw Pikachu on the poop deck as the ship was on fire. Pikachu: Pikapi! Ash: Pikachu! Ash jumped back to the ship, and just missed getting hit by a flaming mast which fell and crashed into where the fireworks and gunpowder was stored. Then he went to Pikachu. Pikachu: Pikapi! Ash: Jump, Pikachu! C'mon buddy, jump! You can do it! Pikachu managed to jump into Ash's arms and carried him away. Suddenly one of the wooden floor planks cracked and caught Ash's foot, causing him to throw Pikachu overboard. Fortunately, Jacob and Ash's Charizard managed to catch him before he reached the water. Jacob: Ash! Hang on, we're comin' for ye! But it was too late; the ship exploded! The crew, Pokémon, Jacob, Pikachu, and Charizard gasped in horror. Serena saw the explosion in horror. Serena: Oh my gosh! Ash's been knocked into the sea. I've got to safe him! With the storm swirling about her, Serena desperately searched for Ash. Serena: Where is he? If I don't find him soon... Wait! There he is. Serena finally saw him floating on a plank of wood and fell into the ocean. Diving beneath the waves, she spotted the unconscious figure. Serena: He's sinking fast. I gotta pull him outta the water... (grabs a hold of him) Before he drowns. Using all her strength, Serena managed to drag him to the surface and swam him to shore. Next morning, the storm had passed. Serena had brought an unconscious Ash to shore, and Scuttle flew over to them. Serena: Is he... Dead? Scuttle: (opens Ash's eyelid) It's hard to say. (checks for a pulse) Oh, I... I can't make out a heartbeat. Then Ash started breathing. Serena: No, look! He's breathing. Oh, thank goodness. (pulls some of his hair back) He's so beautiful. She then put her hand to his face. As she began to sing, Sandy and Sebastian saw her with Ash. Sebastian felt like his mouth just dropped in shock. Serena: (singing) What would I give To live where you are? What would I pay To stay here beside you? What would I do to see you Smiling at me? Where would we walk? Where would we run? If we could stay all day in the sun Just you and me And I could be Part of your world As she sang, Ash heard her and opened his eyes, and saw her for the first time in his life. He had never met someone so beautiful with such a beautiful voice as well. It was like an angel saved his life. Voice: Pikapi! Suddenly, Serena saw Jacob, Pikachu, Charizard, Ash's mother, Queen Delia, and Counselor Oak racing up to him. She and her friends swam back before they were spotted. Pikachu was the only one who saw them. Queen Delia: Ash! Oh, thank goodness you're alive. (puts her hand to her chest) Counselor Oak: (helps Ash up) Oh, Ash. You really delight in these sadisitic strains on one's blood pressure, don't you, my boy? Queen Delia: Are you alright, sweetie? Ash: I-I'm fine, mom. (pause) A-a girl... Rescued me. Oh, ya should've been here. S-she was... So beautiful. And she was... Singing... Mom, she had the most beautiful voice. Jacob: Och, Ash, I think ye may hae swallowed a wee bit tae much seawater. Off we go. He helped Ash onto his Charizard and they started for home. Queen Delia: Come along, Pikachu. Meanwhile, far away from them, Serena and her friends stayed as far away as possible so as not to be seen. Sebastian: We just gonna forget dis whole t'ing ever happened. De sea king will never know. You won't tell him, I won't tell him. I will stay in one piece. Serena climbed up on a rock, watching Ash, and sang once more. Serena: (singing) I don't know when I don't know how But I know something's starting right now Watch and you'll see Someday I'll be Part of your World As Serena thought things would soon go her way, the two Eelektrik, Flotsam & Jetsam watched from behind. At the sea witch's lair, Lusamine laughed as she saw a picture of Serena in her bubble. Lusamine: Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no. I can't stand it. It's too easy. The child is in love with a human. And not just any human; a prince! (chuckles) Her daddy'll love that. King Drayden's headstrong, lovesick girl would make a charming addition to my little garden. As she said this, she gazed at her collection of weird, ugly kelp-like creatures. Then she laughed an evil cackle, waiting to set her plan into motion. Some days later, as a school of Finneon swam by the temple of Samiya, the older sisters were in their dressing room. Marina, the second eldest daughter, was applying some kind of face mask on herself. Misty, the third eldest, swam over to her. Misty: (sarcastically) Don't look now, but it looks like breakfast just exploded on your face. Marina: For your information, it's plankton extract and sea-salt. Misty: Oooh, pretty. Marina: It rejuvenates the skin, and it won't clog your pores. Misty: (scoffs) Whatever! Meanwhile, May, the fourth eldest, was looking for her hair brush, when she came across Dawn, the second youngest. It seemed to May that Dawn always had her stuff. And of course, there some of her stuff were, among Dawn's stuff. May: Uh, is that my brush? Dawn: Oh, so that's where it went. May: My lucky seashells? Dawn: Uh, they're not that lucky. Then, May discovered a plush Kingdra underneath their vanities. May: (gasps, grabs it) Mr. Fuzzyfinkle! Dawn: Aw, he's so cute. Look, he likes me. Rosa, the third youngest, who was brushing her hair, watched the scene with much amusement. Just then, Hilda, the eldest, came in. Hilda: Has anyone seen Serena? Rosa: I think she's still in the bedroom. (points towards the bedroom) Misty: I'll get her. Serena, time to come out! You've been in there all morning! On cue, Serena came out, but acting as though she was love struck. She was even singing to herself. May: What's with her lately? As Serena went on mooning, she nearly bumped into their father. Serena: Morning, daddy. (puts flower in his hair) And she continued on her way, humming and mooning about. Hilda: Oh, she's got it bad. King Drayden: What? What has she got? (pulls flower out of his hair) Misty: Isn't it obvious, Daddy? Serena's in love. King Drayden: Serena? In love? Meanwhile, somewhere at a flowerish part of the temple at a sea garden, Sebastian was pacing. Sebastian: Okay. So far, so good. I don't t'ink de king knows. But it will not be easy keeping something like dis a secret for long. As he spoke, Serena was playing a game of He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not with a kelp flower. Serena: He loves me... Hmmm, he loves me not... He loves me! (giggles) I knew it! Sebastian still didn't like it one bit as he spoke to the love struck mermaid princess. Sebastian: Serena, stop talking crazy! Serena: I gotta see him again. Tonight! Scuttle knows where he lives. (starts swimming away) Sebastian: (grabs onto her tail-fins) Serena, please! Will you get your head outta de clouds and back in de water where it belongs? Serena: I'll swim up to his castle. Then Sandy'll splash around to get his attention, and then we'll... Sebastian: (lets go of her tail) Down here is your home! Serena, listen to me. De human world, it's a mess. Life under de sea is better den anyt'ing dey got up dere. Then he began singing. As all the fish Pokémon went on, it was like a big party. Sandy went through the commotion but pulled by a dance crazed Goldeen. She got out, and after a spot of dizziness, she found Serena. She whispered in Serena's ear to follow her and she did. Meanwhile, everyone was having fun, but none more so than Sebastian. Sebastian: Yeah! As they finished the song, they all discovered that Serena was gone. Sebastian: Serena? As the other Pokémon headed for home, Sebastian looked around a bit before letting off a sigh. Sebastian: (sighs) Oh... Somebody's got to nail dat girl's fins to de floor. Just then, a voice in the distance called. Voice: Sebastian! It was the Horsea with the golden banner, and he was panting as he was looking for Sebastian. Horsea: Sebastian, I've been looking all over for you. I've got an urgent message from the sea king. Sebastian: De sea king? Horsea: (nods) He wants to see you right away; Something about Serena. (swims away) Sebastian: (gasps) He knows! Sebastian had hoped that the sea king wouldn't know about Serena and the prince, but he was going to find out what he had to say about it. But in the royal audience chamber, King Drayden seemed excited to know. He still had the flower that Serena had given him before. King Drayden: (chuckles) Let's see, now. Oh, who could the lucky merman be? He stared at the flower as he said it, but then saw Sebastian coming in. Clearing his throat, King Drayden hid the flower away. King Drayden: Ahem. Um, come in, Sebastian. As he was about to approach the King, Sebastian inhaled and exhaled as calmly as he could. Sebastian: (to himself) I mustn't overreact. I must remain calm. Then, he crawled all the way to the King. Sebastian: (squeaky voice) Yes... (clears throat) Ahem. Yes, Your Majesty. King Drayden: Sebastian, I'm concerned about Serena. Have you noticed she's been acting peculiar lately? Sebastian: Oh. Uh, peculiar? King Drayden: You know, mooning about, daydreaming, singing to herself... You haven't noticed, hmm? Sebastian: Oh... Well, I... King Drayden: Sebastian... Sebastian: Hmmm? King Drayden waved a finger as though to say to come closer to him, and the Corphish obeyed. King Drayden: I know you've been keeping something from me. Sebastian: (gulps) Keeping... Somet'ing? King Drayden: About Serena? Sebastian was so nervous, he's four legs started shaking. Sebastian: (stops his legs shaking) Serena...? King Drayden: In love? The King was anxious to know who the "merman" was. But instead, Sebastian cracked. Sebastian: I tried to stop her, Sire! She wouldn't listen! I told her to stay away from humans! Dey are bad, dey are trouble, dey... King Drayden: Humans? (shouts) What about humans?! Sebastian suddenly realized what he had just said. Sebastian: Humans? (tries to back away, chuckling nervously) W-w-who said anyt'ing about humans? Sebastian realized he would be getting Serena in trouble, as the King grabbed him by the neck. Meanwhile, Sandy was leading Serena back to her secret grotto. Serena: Sandy, why can't ya just tell me what this is all about? Sandy: You'll see. It's a surprise. Sandy showed Serena what it was. Serena couldn't believe her eyes. Serena: Oh, Sandy. It was the statue of Prince Ash right at the center. Serena was so overwhelmed with happiness, she hugged Sandy. Serena: Sandy, you're the best! (goes to the statue) It looks just like him. It even has his eyes. (giggles) "Why Ash, run away with you?" (giggles) "This is all so... So sudden." As she was feeling happier than ever, who should completely ruin the moment but King Drayden. Serena: (gasps) Daddy?! There stood her father looking angry, like any scolding father, behind him was Sebastian, looking very sorry. Sandy hid behind a reef, looking at Serena who was now in big trouble. King Drayden: (firmly) As your father, I consider myself a reasonable merman. As King, I set certain rules, and as such, I expect those rules to be obeyed. Serena: But Dad, I... King Drayden: Is it true you rescued a human from drowning? Serena: Daddy, I had to... King Drayden: Contact between the human world and the mer-world is strictly forbidden. Serena, you know that! Everyone knows that! Even the sea Pokémon know that! Serena: He would've died. King Drayden: One less human to worry about! Serena: You don't even know him! King Drayden: Know him?! I don't have to know him! They're all the same! Spineless, savage, harpooning fish-eaters, incapable of any feeling...! Serena: Daddy, I love him! (realizes what she said) Both Sandy and Sebastian wished Serena hadn't said that. King Drayden: No!... Have you lost your senses completely?! He's a human, you're a mermaid! Serena: (scornfully) I don't care! King Drayden: So help me Serena, I am going to get through to you! (charging his trident) And if this is the only way... (darkly) So be it! Then King Drayden used his trident to zap all of Serena's whole collection. She begged him to stop, but he wouldn't listen. He finally aimed towards the statue. Serena: Daddy, NOOO!!!! Too late, the statue was destroyed. Seeing her entire collection destroyed, Serena faced her father with tears in her eyes. At first King Drayden looked satisfied, but it soon turned to shock as he saw his daughter's face. Serena: How could you?! (weeps) My mother wouldn't have wanted you to do this... Then Serena fell to the floor, and began crying. King Drayden, who had been taken aback by the mention of her mother, began to regret what he had done. King Drayden: (tries to get close) Serena, I... Serena: (sniffles) Just leave me alone! I HATE YOU!! Her shout echoed all around the grotto. King Drayden gasped upon hearing this. He wanted to say something, but he found that he couldn't, so he left. King Drayden: (thinks to himself) Did she have to mention her mother? Only Sandy and Sebastian stayed behind. Sebastian: (moves closer) Serena, I am so sorry. I didn't... Serena: (sniffles) Just go away. Sebastian felt like he had betrayed her even though he didn't mean to. So he and Sandy left Serena all alone... To cry. But she wasn't alone, for behind the destroyed pieces, the Eelektrik twins saw their chance and slowly approached her. Flotsam: Poor child. Jetsam: Poor, sweet child. Serena stopped crying and looked up at the shifty twins. Flotsam: She has a very serious problem. Jetsam: If only there were something we could do. Flotsam: But there is something. Serena: Who... (wipes a tear away) Who are you? Jetsam: Don't be scared. Flotsam: We present someone who can help you. Jetsam: Someone who could make all your dreams come true. Flotsam/Jetsam: Just imagine... Jetsam: You and your prince... Flotsam/Jetsam: Together, forever. Serena: I don't understand. Jetsam: Lusamine has great powers. Serena: (gasps) The sea witch? Why that's... I couldn't possibly... No! Get out of here! Leave me alone! (turned away) Flotsam: Suit yourself. Jetsam: It was only a suggestion. As he said that, Jetsam flicked a piece of the statue's face over to her with his tail. Serena saw the only intact piece of the prince's face and picked it up. Serena: (looking at the face) Wait! Flotsam/Jetsam: Yeeeeeeeeeess? Outside the grotto, Serena's friends were in grief, especially Sandy. Sandy: (sniffs) Poor Serena. How could you, Sebastian? What were you thinking?! Sebastian: I-I didn't mean to tell, it was an accident. Suddenly, they saw Serena with the Eelektrik twins swimming by. Sebastian: Serena, where are you going? (swims up to her) Serena, what are you doing here with dis riff-raff? Serena: I'm going to see Lusamine. Sebastian: (gasps) Serena, no! (grabs her tail fins) No, she's a demon! She's a monster! Serena: (scornfully) Why don'cha go tell my father? You're good at that. With that, she made Sebastian let go of her tail and swam off, leaving her friends behind. Sebastian: But... But, I... (to Sandy) C'mon! So the two friends followed them from way behind. The twins led Serena to a mid-ocean ridge where the canyons looked jagged and underwater volcanoes still smoked. Soon they led her to the witch's lair. It was a scary place; It looked like a large, vicious Gyarados just laying there, waiting for a meal to swim in. Serena was hesitant to go in, but the Eelektrik twins insisted. Flotsam/Jetsam: This way. Serena didn't want to go in, but she went in anyway. She didn't like it one bit; the inside was as scary as the outside. But not as scary as the kelp creatures she saw. One of the creatures clung onto her arms, soon the others tried to reach her, but she made them let go of her. Then, she heard the voice of the witch herself. Lusamine: Flotsam... Jetsam... You divine little Sevipers. (sees Serena) Mmmm, I see you've brought a customer. (beckons her with a tentacle) Come in. Come in, my child. We mustn't lurk in doorways; it's rude. One might question your upbringing. Serena finally met up with the sea witch, who toyed with Serena's hair with her tentacles for a bit. Lusamine: Ohhh... Ohhhh... Is this how they're wearing their hair back at the temple of Samiya nowadays? Of course, I wouldn't know. I've been banished forever by your dear, old daddy... Reduced to living in this wretched hovel for all eternity. And for what? (pretends to cry) Because I was ambitious? Because I made a few pitiful attempts to elevate my station in life? Serena: You tried to overthrow my father! Lusamine: (chuckles) Oh, these things are blown outta proportion. (sighs) At any rate, I've reformed. I only do good these days. Now, then. You're here because you have a thing for this human. This, er, prince fellow. Not that I blame you; he is quite a catch, isn't he? Hmm-hmm. Well, angel fish, the solution to your problem is simple. The only way to get what you want... Is to become a human yourself. Serena: (gasps) Can you do that? Lusamine looked at her with a scheming look in her eyes. Lusamine: My dear, sweet child. That's what I do. It's what I live for; to help unfortunate merfolk, like yourself. Poor souls with no one else to turn to. (singing) I admit that in the past I've been a nasty They weren't kidding when they called me, well, a witch But you'll find that nowadays I've mended all my ways Repented, seen the light and made a switch (speaks) True? (singing) Those poor unfortunate souls So sad, so true They come flocking to my cauldron Crying, "Spells, Lusamine please!" And I help them? (speaks) Yes, I do. (singing) Now it's happened once or twice Someone couldn't pay the price And I'm afraid I had to rake 'em 'cross the coals Yes, I've had the odd complaint But on the whole, I've been a saint To those poor unfortunate souls As she brought Serena over to her magic bubble cauldron, Lusamine explained what she was going to do. Lusamine: Now, here's the deal. I will make you a potion that will turn you into a human for three days. Got that? Three days. Now listen, because this is important. Before the sun sets on the third day, you've got to get dear ol' princey to fall in love with you. That is, he's got to kiss you. Not just any kiss; A special kiss. The kiss of true love. As Lusamine explained to Serena on what she must do, Sandy and Sebastian finally caught up and saw what was happening. Lusamine: If he does kiss you before the sun sets on the third day, you'll remain human, permanently... But, if he doesn't, you turn back into a mermaid, and... You belong... To Me. Sebastian: No Serena! Don't... With lightning fast speed, the Eelektrik twins tied Sandy and Sebastian up, shutting them both up in the process. Lusamine: Have we got a deal? Serena: If I become human... I'll never be with my father or sisters again. Lusamine: That's right... But, you'll have your man. (chuckles) Life's full of tough choices, innit? (singing) C'mon, I know you need a little magic And magic is my specialty du jour Don't just stand there looking sick Would I kid you? Play a trick? Like I told you, I don't do that anymore So I think you ought to take my little bargain Yes, I think you ought to make my little deal Sure, it's hard to leave your life But you could be a prince's wife Why don'cha let me take that dream and make it real? (chuckles, speaks) Oh, and there is one more thing. We haven't discussed the subject of payment. You can't get something for nothing, you know. Serena: But I don't have any... Lusamine: I'm not asking much. Just a token, really, a trifle. You'll never even miss it. What I want from you is... Your voice. Serena: (gasps, holds her hand to her neck) My voice? Lusamine: You've got it sweetcakes. No more talking, singing, zip! Serena: (with concern) But without my voice, how can I...? Lusamine: You'll have your looks! Your pretty face! And don't underestimate the importance of body language! Ha! Lusamine then continued with her song while she began working her magic. Lusamine: (singing) The men up there don't like a lot of blabber They think a girl who gossips is a bore Yes, on land it's much preferred For ladies not to say a word And after all, dear, what is idle prattle for? C'mon, they're not all that impressed with conversation True gentlemen avoid it when they can But they dote and swoon and fawn On a lady who's withdrawn It's she who holds her tongue who gets her man C'mon, you poor unfortunate soul Go ahead! Make your choice! I'm a very busy woman And I haven't got all day It won't cost much Just your voice! Ya poor unfortunate soul It's sad But true Lusamine showed Serena a contract. The contact read, "I hereby grant unto Lusamine, the Witch of the Sea... Lusamine: (singing) If you want to cross a bridge, my sweet You've got to pay the toll Take a gulp and take a breath And go ahead and sign the scroll! (speaks, whispers) Flotsam, Jetsam, now I've got her boys. (singing) The boss is on a roll This poor Un- Fortunate Soul! So Serena bravely wrote her signature on the contract. Lusamine pulled the contract and her bubble cauldron began to brew as she sang the magic words: Lusamine: (singing) Beluga sevrgua, come winds of the Caspian Sea Larynxes Glacydis Ad max Laryngitis la voce to me (speaks) Now sing! Serena vocalized as best she could. Lusamine: Keep singing! While Serena vocalized, two magical arm-like things swooped down her throat and took her voice. Still vocalizing, Serena's voice is placed in Lusamine's shell necklace. Lusamine then started cackling like mad as her bubble grabbed Serena, and the transformation began. Sandy and Sebastian covered their eyes through the horror they were witnessing. Serena's mermaid tail then turned into human legs and feet. After the transformation, Serena is shown still in her pink seashells and a pink piece of cloth covering the space where her new legs met her torso. Realizing she couldn't breathe underwater anymore, Sandy and Sebastian swam to Serena and pulled her away from the lair and up to the surface... Faster, and faster... And finally, Serena breathed fresh air upon breaking out of the sea. Sandy and Sebastian carried Serena and took her on towards land. Prince Ash lived in a kingdom by the sea. It had a beautiful beach, but the pride of the entire kingdom was its castle. It was a gorgeous castle which was also right next to the beach. At the beach Ash was playing Serena's melody with his flute. Pikachu stood by him, while Charizard, being the fire-type that he was, was sun-bathing close by. When Ash stopped playing the song, he seemed discouraged. And even though they didn't speak the same language, both Pikachu and Charizard knew what was wrong with him. Ash: (sighs) That voice. I can't get it outta my head. (pause) I've looked everywhere, guys. Where could she be? Pikachu: Pikapi. Charizard: (growls) At another part of the beach, not far away from the castle, Serena, Sandy and Sebastian were exhausted from their journey. Serena felt tired from being carried. But then she remembered something... As she sat in the water, she looked down at her lower body; Where once was a mermaid tail were her new human legs, as well as a piece of pink cloth covering where her new legs met her body. Serena: (thinks) I have legs... I actually have legs! (gasps) But that means... Raising her legs up from the water, Serena grew more and more excited. At the end of her new legs, there were small, lovely, and very cute by human standards, real female human barefeet! All ten long toes, heels, arches, and all. Wiggling all ten of her new toes, Serena's feelings were beyond words. Serena: (thinks) I have feet, too... I actually have feet! (cups her hands to her cheeks in joy) That means... I'm really human!!! Then, as Serena places her left foot back in the water and placing her right leg over her left knee, a voice from afar could be heard - Scuttle the Wingull. Scuttle: Well, look at what the Whiscash dragged! (chuckles) Scuttle landed on top of Serena's right leg. Scuttle: Look at ya! Look at ya! There's somethin' different. Don't tell me, lemme guess. As though to try and give her goofy Wingull buddy a hint, Serena started moving her leg up and down. Scuttle: No new seashells. I gotta admit I can't put my foot on it right now, but if I just stand here long enough I know that I'll... Sebastian: (annoyed, shouts) She's got legs, you bird-brain! This shout made Scuttle jump off Serena's leg and landed next to Sebastian on the rocks as he continued. Sebastian: She traded her voice to de sea witch and got legs. Sheesh, mon...! Scuttle: I knew that. Serena then began to try and stand on her new legs. Sandy: Serena's been turned into a human. She's gotta make the prince for in love with her, and he's gotta kiss her to make it permanent. Serena meanwhile wobbled a bit on her legs as she managed to stand up straight. Sebastian: And she's only got three days. Suddenly, Serena stumbled and fell into the water, splashing her friends. As she worked to correct herself, Sebastian was losing it. Sebastian: Just look at her! On legs; On human legs! (gasps) My nerves are shot. Dis is a catastrophe! What would her father say? I'll tell you what her father'd say. (grabs Sandy by her cheeks) He'd say he's gonna kill himself a Corphish; dat's what her father'd say! I'm gonna march meself straight home right now and tell him just like I shoulda done de minute... He was about to return to the sea, but Serena stopped him, holding him in her hands, shaking her head frantically. Sebastian: ...And don't you shake your head at me, young lady. Maybe dere's still time. If we could get dat witch to give you back your voice, you could go home with all de normal sea Pokémon and just be... Sebastian saw that Serena was giving him a sad, pleading look. Sebastian: Just be... Just be miserable for de rest of your life. (sighs exasperatedly) All right, all right. I'll try to help ya find dat prince. Delighted, Serena gave Sebastian a big hug and placed him back on the rocks. Sebastian: (to himself) Boy. What a soft-shell I'm turning out to be. Scuttle: Now, Serena, I'm tellin' ya, if ya wanna be a human the first thing ya gotta do is dress like one. Now lemme see. Finding some sail cloth, Scuttle set about making clothes for Serena to wear. Meanwhile, Ash was about to head home, when Pikachu stopped, looked around, and sniffed the air. He became very excited, as though he had found something. Pikachu: Pika! Pikachu! Ash: What is it, Pikachu? Pikachu grabbed his pants while pointing. Then he ran way ahead from Ash and Charizard. Ash: Hey, Pikachu! Wait for me! Ash and Charizard ran after Pikachu. Meanwhile, right where Serena stood, her friends had fashioned her a dress out of the sails. It wasn't the best looking dress, but it wasn't too shabby either. Scuttle: (whistles) Ya look great, kid. Ya look sensational. Suddenly, they heard Pikachu coming towards them. Pikachu: Pika! Pikachu! Sandy hid in the water, while Scuttle flew away. Sebastian, meanwhile, hid himself within Serena's sail-dress as Pikachu jumped up and down around Serena like he was saying "It's you! It's you!" Serena tried to calm Pikachu, but he was too happy to see her. He leapt so high, he managed to give Serena a lick on the cheek. Ash: Pikachu! Serena couldn't believe her ears. Ash finally caught up to Pikachu, who ran up to him, and grabbed him again as he tried to show him that he'd found her. Ash: Hey, take it easy, Pikachu. What's gotten into ya, buddy? (sees a girl sitting on a rock) Oh... I see. Serena: (gasps, fixing her hair, thinks) I can't believe it! It's really him. Ash: (comes up to her) Are you okay, miss? Sorry if Pikachu scared you. He's really friendly. Then Serena gasped when she saw Charizard coming up to her. The Flame Pokémon growled and sniffed her a little bit, because he never saw this girl before. This made Serena a little nervous, as she had never seen a Pokémon like Charizard either. Ash: Don't worry about Charizard. He may look ferocious, but he's just a puppy on the inside... Once ya get to know 'im. Then Charizard decided that this girl was okay, and gave her a lick on the cheek. It was bigger than Pikachu's lick, though, but she didn't pay much attention because she noticed Ash was looking at her closely. Ash: Y'know... You seem very familiar... To me. Have we met? Serena nodded. Pikachu: (excited) Pika-pika! Ash: We have met? I knew it! You're the one; the one I've been looking for! What's your name? Pikachu was excited to hear her voice. Serena tried to speak, but nothing came out of her mouth. She remembered that she lost her voice to the witch. Ash: (concerned) What's wrong? What is it? Serena placed a hand to where her voice had once been. Ash: You can't speak? Serena sadly shook her head "no". Ash: Oh. Then you couldn't be who I thought. Pikachu: (disappointed) Pikachu... Serena was disappointed, too. But then she decided to try something else; She tried using pantomime. Ash: W-what is it? Y-You're hurt? (pause) No, no... You need help. Suddenly, Serena fell from the rock. Ash: (catching her) Whoa, whoa, careful! Careful, easy. (gets her to her feet) Gee, ya must've really been through somethin'. Well, don't worry. I'll help ya out. Pikachu: Pika! Pikachu! Charizard: (nods; growls approvingly) Ash walked her on toward the castle. Serena managed to give a wink to Sandy and Scuttle, who wished her luck from behind. As she walked along the beach, Serena noticed just how warm and soft the sand was against her feet. Serena: (looks down, thinks) Ooooh. The sand feels nice on my feet. Spreading out her toes as she walked, she could see sand gathering between them. This made her giggle a bit. It seemed like she was going to enjoy having her own pair of feet after all. Upon arriving at the castle, Serena saw how magnificent it was. Serena: (thinks) Wow! So that's what a human castle looks like. It's beautiful. Just like the temple back home. At the castle entrance, there stood Her Majesty, Queen Delia, and Counselor Oak. Queen Delia: Oh, hello, Ash. (sees Serena) Who's your new friend? Ash: My Pokémon and I found her on the beach. She can't speak, but she needs help. Queen Delia: Well, of course. Any guest of my son should have all the help she needs. Counselor Oak: I'll have Sally, the head maid, help her at once, Your Majesty. (calls) Sally? Out came a young maid. Sally were a blue blouse, and a blue dress, and had her hair in a ponytail. Sally: (curtsies) You summoned me? Queen Delia: Sally, this girl is a guest of Ash. Would you please give her some royal treatment? Sally: Oh, yes. Of course, Your Majesty. (curtsies) I'll see that she gets the best of attention. (to Serena) Please, follow me. Taking Serena by the hand, Sally escorted her inside. Serena felt how warm the stone stairs were in the sun under her feet. Serena: (thinks) These feel kinda hard on my feet. But they're not bad. Then she felt the floor inside the castle. It felt nice and smooth. Looking down once more, Serena spread her toes out. Then she saw something... Sally too was barefoot. Serena: (thinks) Huh. She doesn't have anything on her feet either. (looks around) But some of the other girls do. Wonder why? What's wrong with just being barefoot? Later, in the bathtub, Serena was having the time of her life. She never knew how fun bubbles were and how relaxing a good bath was. Serena: (sighs in relaxation; thinks) So this is how humans bathe. It's so smooth. Sally: Washed up from a shipwreck. Poor thing. (to Serena) Don't worry, we'll have you feeling better in no time. Bianca: We sure will. Serena's sail-dress was close by, and Sebastian was still inside. The girl named Bianca picked it up. Bianca: (looks at it) I'll just, er, I'll just get this washed for you. The sail-dress is taken by laundry girls - Iris, Shannon, Lyra, Anthea, and Concordia. Shannon: Well, ya must've at least heard about this girl. Iris: Well, this girl says... As Serena's sail-dress was getting washed, Sebastian got dunked in the soapy water. Iris: Since when has that girl gotten anything right? Sebastian belched out some bubbles as the sail-dress was taken to a conveyer belt. Lyra: I know. I mean, this girl shows up in rags and doesn't speak? Not exactly my idea of a princess. (puts the sail-dress on clothes line) But, if Ash is looking for a girl, I know a couple of highly available ones right here... Sebastian managed to dive into a nearby window. Sebastian: (rubs his head) What a day I'm having. He soon found out he was in the kitchen, and saw various fish cooking. This all made him faint. Meanwhile, Ash, Jacob, Queen Delia, and Counselor Oak were in the big dining hall. It had huge windows and had a nice view of the ocean. Jacob was busy cleaning his glasses as he spoke. Jacob: Och, Ash, be reasonable. Bonnie lassies dinnae just swim around rescuin' people in the middle of the ocean, and then flitter off intae oblivion, like some... Ash: I'm tellin' ya, Jake, she was real! I'm gonna find that girl... And when I do, I'll ask for her hand in marriage. Just then, Serena was escorted in by Sally. Sally: Come along, don't be shy. As she came in, Serena was a beautiful sight to behold; Her honey-blonde hair was long, but beautifully brushed, she had on a beautiful seashell pink gown, and had on some pearls and ear-rings. Counselor Oak: My, my, Ash, isn't she a vision? Queen Delia: Oh yes, a wonderful sight to see. Ash was struck by such beauty, he couldn't even find his words at first. Ash: Uh... You look wonderful. Serena felt flattered, and blushed. Then Queen Delia looked and saw something about her. Queen Delia: Oh, you have no shoes on. Serena looked down at her feet, and her toes scrunched a bit. Then, Sally stepped in. Sally: Some of the other girls tried to have her pick nice shoes for her to wear, but she didn't like any of them. My guess is may be she's like me, someone who enjoys going around barefoot more than going in shoes, but will wear shoes if necessary. But my second guess is she's most likely someone who doesn't like shoes and just loves being barefoot as much as she can. Serena: (thinks) Guess that's why Sally isn't wearing shoes; Because she enjoys being barefoot more. (looks down) But no shoes for me; I like my new feet as they are. Then Serena smiled as she wiggled her bare toes happily. She also noticed how nice and smooth the floor was. Sally: Either way, Your Majesty, she seems happiest being barefoot. Jacob: (comes up) Och, that's perfectly unnerstanable. After all, Your Majesty, if ye allows our dear Sally tae go around the kingdom barefoot, who's tae say we shouldn'nae allow our bonnie lass here tae do the same? Ash: Y'know, Mom, Jake kinda does have a point. (thinks) Actually, her feet are kinda cute. Queen Delia: Oh, well, my son is right. And after all, you are our guest. If you wanna be barefoot while you're here, that's perfectly fine by me. Serena was happy to hear that, and politely bowed to the Queen. Jacob: Nou come along, ye must be famished. Let me help ye, lassie. Serena: (thinks) That's good. After becoming a human, I'm actually kinda hungry. She heard her stomach growl as Ash helped her to a seat, right next to his own. Jacob: There, quite comfy? Serena nodded. Then she saw a fork on the table. Jacob: (chuckles) It's, eh, nae often that we hae such a bonnie dinner guest, eh? Counselor Oak: Well I must say, I quite agree. Picking up the fork, Serena started combing her hair with it. But then she noticed Ash, Queen Delia, Counselor Oak, Jacob, and Sally looking a bit dumbfounded at what they were seeing. Placing the fork back on the table, she felt a bit embarrassed. Then Serena noticed Jacob with a pipe, dipping it in some liquid in a pot on the table. Then he put one end of the pipe in his mouth, and started blowing bubbles. Suddenly, Jacob turns to you, the readers, suspiciously. Jacob: (to you, the readers) What? Ye actually thought A'd be smokin' a pipe? As he went back to blowing bubbles with his pipe, he noticed Serena looked excited by what she was seeing. Jacob: Och, er, do ye like it? (allows her to have the bubble pipe for a moment) Eh, 'tis rather a fine... Ach! Suddenly, Serena blew right into the pipe, causing a barrage of bubbles to go right into Jacob's face. This made the Queen, Counselor, Sally, and even Ash laugh when they saw this. Sally: (giggles) My goodness! Ash: (laughs) Ahem, uh, so sorry, Jake. Queen Delia: Why, Ash, that's the first time I've seen you smile in weeks. As Her Majesty said that, Jacob was cleaning his face of the soapy bubbles with a napkin before moving onto cleaning his glasses once again. Jacob: Aye, verra amusing. (sniffs) So, Sally, m'dear, what's for dinner? Sally: Oooh, you're gonna love it. Chef's been fixing her specialty, stuffed crab. Meanwhile, Sebastian was still in the kitchen, when he spied the castle's chef. Her name was Burgundy; she had lilac eyes, purple hair, and spoke in a faux French accent, as though to make herself sound elegant. As she was preparing dinner, Burgundy was humming to herself, which soon evolved into her singing. Burgundy: (singing) Nouvelle cuisine Les Champs-Elysees Maurice Chevalier (giggles, singing) Les poissons, les poissons How I love les poissons Love to chop and to serve little fish First I cut off zeir heads Then I pull out zeir bones Ah mais oui, ça c'est toujours délice Les poissons, les poissons Hee hee hee, haw haw haw With ze cleaver I hack zem in two I pull out what's inside And I serve it up fried Cause I love little fishes, don't you? Here's something for tempting ze palate Prepared in ze classic technique First you pound ze fish flat with ze mallet Then you slash through ze skin Give ze belly a slice Zen you rub some salt in Cause that makes it taste nice Sebastian tried to hide in some green lettuce, but Burgundy discovered him, making him gasp. Burgundy: Zut alors! I've missed one. (picks him up, singing) Sacrebleu, what is this? How on earth could I miss Such a sweet little succulent crab? Quel Dommage, what a loss Here we go, in ze sauce Now some flour I zink just a dab Now I'll stuff you with bread It don't hurt, cause you're dead And you're certainly lucky you are Cause it's gonna be hot in my big silver pot Tout-aloo mon poisson Au revoir Throwing Sebastian into the boiling pot, he manages to save himself and hops back on the table. Burgundy: (notices) Eh? (picks him up again) What is zis? Sebastian quickly pinched her nose and escaped with great speed. Burgundy: (in pain) Ow! (grabs her nose in pain) Burgundy tried to get her hands on him, but Sebastian slipped out and she accidentally burnt her hand on the griller. Burgundy: (in pain) Yeeeeeeow!! Then a frying pan landed on her foot, making her clutch it in her hands and hop on the other in pain. Burgundy: (in pain) Oh, ow, ee, ow, oh, oh-ho-ho! Then Burgundy grabbed all her knives from a knife rack with two hands, throwing all of them at Sebastian, but he managed to evade them and throw a bowl of sauce on Burgundy's head. Burgundy was getting mad by this time, as she took a cleaver knife and chomped a cabinet in half and threw it at Sebastian. But he managed to get away as Burgundy began to pursue him with a mallet, screaming like a mad-woman. The noise could soon be heard even in the dining hall. Jacob: Great Scott! Counselor Oak: What on earth is going on? Sally: (nervously) Uh, I think I'd better go see what Burgundy is up to. (leaves) In the kitchen, Burgundy was trashing the place trying to find Sebastian. Burgundy: Come out, petit pipsqueak, and fight like a man! Sally: (enters) Burgundy?! This surprised Burgundy into bumping her head against the table she was looking under and come out, holding her head in pain. Then she saw Sally, who had a stern look on her face. Sally: What are you doing?! Burgundy: (nervously) Well, I-I-I was just, er, er, uh, I'm sorry madame. (giggles nervously) Sally just ignored Burgundy and took the plates in a tray into the dining hall. Queen Delia: You know, Ash, perhaps our young guest might enjoy seeing some of the sights of the kingdom. Something in the way of a tour? Ash: Uh... I'm sorry, Mom, what was that? Queen Delia: Honey, you can't spend all your time moping around, you need to get out. Do something, have a life. You know, get your mind off... As Jacob lifted his plate's cover, he was too distracted by the conversation between the Queen and the Prince to notice Sebastian cowering in the salad. Serena did, and he moved his claw to his mouth, telling her to not let anyone know he was there. Ash: Easy, Mom, easy. It's actually not a bad idea. If she's interested. Thinking quickly while Ash was talking, Serena lifted her own plate cover and signaled Sebastian to hide there. Sebastian rushed across, making sure no one was looking. Once she made sure Sebastian was safe, Serena quickly closed the plate's cover, leaning heavily on it as Ash turned to her. Ash: Well, whaddaya say? Would ya like to join me on a tour of my kingdom tomorrow? Serena nodded vigorously. Counselor Oak: Excellent! Jacob: Aye! Nou let's eat, before this crab wanders off ma plate. (notices only salad on his plate) Later that night, up in her room, Serena watched Ash, who was training Pikachu and Charizard, from her window. Ash: Okay, Charizard, use Dragon Pulse with Fire Blast! (then performs moves) And Pikachu, use Gigavolt Havoc! Serena watched as towards Pikachu struck a series of synchronized poses with Ash to build Z-Power. He then gathered a large ball of electricity and launched it towards Charizard with a punch; while Charizard fired a green ball of light from his mouth, followed by flames from his mouth that took the shape of the kanji "Dai", meaning "big". These attacks collided, creating an explosion. When it cleared, Ash ran up to his Pokémon, petting them each to let them know he was proud of them. Then he saw Serena watching him and waved at her. Serena noticed him, and blushing a little, waved back before going into her room. Up in her room, Serena was getting ready for bed. She had on a nice pink nightgown, was combing her hair with her fork, and of course, was enjoying the feeling of the floor under her barefeet. Sebastian meanwhile was getting stuff off himself. Sebastian: Dis has got to be, without a doubt, de single most humiliating day of my life. Oooooh dat barbarian of a female! I'd like to marinade her. (gets patted on the head by Serena) I hope dat you appreciate what I go through for you, young lady. Serena got herself in bed, and felt how soft the mattress was. Sebastian: Now, we got to make a plan to get dat boy to kiss you. Tomorrow, when he takes you for dat ride, you gotta look your best. You gotta bat your eyes, like dis (demonstrates); You gotta pucker up your lips, like dis (demonstrates this also); So if he gets you into a smoochin' mood, you'll be prepared to... Serena, are you listening to me? By now, Sebastian realized that Serena had just fallen asleep. Sighing to himself, he blew out the nearby candle, deciding he should go to sleep as well. Sebastian: You are hopeless, child. You know dat? (yawns) Completely hopeless. Back at the sea temple of Samiya, King Drayden was worried about where Serena was. The Horsea swam up to him. King Drayden: Any sign of them? Horsea: No, Your Majesty. We've searched everywhere. We've found no trace of your daughter... Or Sebastian. King Drayden: Well, keep looking. Leave no shell unturned, no coral unexplored. Let no one in this kingdom sleep until she's safe at home. Horsea: (bows) Yes, Sire. (leaves) As the Horsea left, the King was filled with regret after what he had done to her. Sitting on his throne, he picked up a piece of shell that showed a mermaid with a tiara and long flowing blonde hair. This was his long departed Queen Cynthia. To King Drayden, Cynthia was more than just his Queen; she was his best friend. And no one loved music more than her... Except for Serena. King Drayden fantasized about the past, and we see the following scenes through flashback- King Drayden and Queen Cynthia are seen dancing around together, watched by their seven young daughters - Hilda, Marina, Misty, May, Rosa, Dawn, and Serena; who soon join in. Next we see young Serena practicing the piano, watched by both parents. Then when Serena had a bandage on her right hand, King Drayden kissed it to make it better. Next we see young Hilda and Serena playing hide and seek with their father. They sneak up behind him with their mother, and they all share a good laugh. Next we see King Drayden blowing on a flute, causing a nearby Qwilfish to puff up. This made both him and young Serena laugh. We next see Queen Cynthia singing a lullaby to their seven daughters. Queen Cynthia: (singing) Oh the waves roll low And the waves roll high And so it goes Under a bright blue endless sky Waves try to measure Days that we treasure Wave hello And wave Goodbye... After both parents tuck their daughters in, they turned to leave. But not before saying their good nights. Queen Cynthia: Good night, girls. We next see King Drayden and Queen Cynthia on the rocks of a cove the surface, and the King giving her an anniversary gift he had had it made, especially for her; a music box that played their song. Their young daughters see them about to kiss, then their father comes up behind them and starts playing with them. Suddenly, as dark clouds roll in, all the merpeople saw a pirate ship. King Drayden: Go! (gathers his daughters) But in the chaos, after Queen Cynthia managed to save their oldest daughter, Hilda, she was unable to save herself. King Drayden: Cynthia! CYNTHIA!! Queen Cynthia was crushed to death by the pirate ship while she was trying to save their music box, and the ship sank after hitting the rocks. King Drayden: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Cynthia's death left King Drayden devastated, and the whole kingdom was heartbroken. Eventually, even King Drayden's heart healed, and he promised that he would raise their girls properly. But he also banned all the inhabitants of the sea from ever going to the surface... So they wouldn't have to suffer the same fate as his wife. Then King Drayden's mind flashed back to Serena after he had destroyed her whole human collection in the hopes to get her to see reason. The look on her face made him regret his actions. Then he remembered the last words Serena had said to him. Serena's Voice: My mother wouldn't have wanted you to do this... I HATE YOU!!... HATE YOU!!... HATE YOU!! King Drayden sighed regretfully as he remembered all that. Right now, he wished more than ever that he wasn't so overprotective of Serena like he had been for so long. Now she wouldn't be missing. King Drayden: (looking at Queen Cynthia's picture) Oh, Cynthia... What have I done?... What have I done? With that in mind, he made a prayer, hoping that Serena would return, and hope that she would forgive him. It was Day 2 now of Serena being human. The morning sunlight bathed the kingdom with its radiance. Ash and Serena were getting ready for their tour. Serena now had on a light pink blouse with a dark pink dress that reached her calves. And of course, she was barefoot. They were escorted to a carriage that would be pulled by a Rapidash. Pikachu and Charizard wanted to come along, but Ash told them it would be just the two of them, so the two Pokémon stayed at the castle. Before they got ready, Sebastian managed to sneak onto the carriage without anyone, except for Serena, knowing it. Queen Delia, Counselor Oak, Jacob and Sally came to see them off. As they started the tour, Serena was amazed by the kingdom and its beauty. At one point, she got herself upside down and saw the wheels and the hoofs of Rapidash from a different perspective. As they were crossing the bridge, Sandy jumped up from the water and saw Sebastian. Sandy: (whispers) Has he kissed her yet? Sebastian: (whispers) Not yet. Sandy: (disappointed) Awwww... Upon reaching the kingdom's marketplace, Ash helped Serena down from the carriage. She couldn't have been more amazed by this lively kingdom. Serena: (thinks) Oh my gosh. It's almost like Samiya, except it's on land. As she walked, she felt the warm road under her barefeet. The day wasn't too hot, but the road felt pretty good. Serena first saw how the post office was training flying Pokémon like Pidgey, Taillow, Starly, Pidove, Fletchling, Pikipek to help people deliver letters and packages to far away places, and a bakery where they made a variety of breads, rolls, cookies, cakes, and even Pokéblock, Poffins, and Poké Puffs for Pokémon. Serena wanted to try one of the Poké Puffs, but Ash told her that they were only for Pokémon. They saw a puppet show about some Pokémon dancing. Upon getting a closer look at the puppets, she saw that the puppets were being controlled a very talented Psyduck who could use Psychic-type moves. Then Serena saw couples dancing to music, and she and Ash started dancing along. Serena followed Ash very slowly as they began dancing together. He spun her around, then danced a simple waltz. Eventually, they began to dance beautifully, even Serena found herself an expert on dancing. Even though she had been human for two days, she was a natural at dancing on human legs. Ash was more amazed at how Serena danced so beautifully. After having a great time, Ash and Serena took the carriage to explore more of the kingdom. Scuttle happened to fly by and saw Sandy as he landed. Scuttle: Yo, Sandy! Any kissing? Sandy: No, not yet. Scuttle: Hmm. Well, they-they better get crackin'. Leaving the town behind them, Ash allowed Serena to take the reins and made the Rapidash go faster. They came to a small ravine, which to Ash's amazement, they were able to jump over. Soon they came to the kingdom garden. It was a beautiful garden, full of flowers, trees, and bushes that had a varity of berries and many grass Pokémon by the dozen. As Serena walked along in her barefeet, she was amazed at how nice and cool the blades of grass felt under her soles. Serena: (thinks) So this is how grass feels on my feet. It feels pretty nice. It even tickles a little. Then she saw the blades of grass that were in between her toes. Scrunching up her toes, she heard the sound of grass being teared up from the ground when she raised her foot up in the air. This made her giggle a bit. Then she came up to a tree, where a Heracross was licking its sap. Putting her hand against the bark, she felt how hard it was just by knocking on it. Then she accidentally got some of the sticky sap on her hand. Then she saw the sap trailing down the tree and landing right on her foot. Serena: (thinks) This stuff feels sticky. Fortunately she saw Ash coming up and he saw the problem. Ash: Don't worry. The lake's close by. You can wash the sap off your hands and feet there. (winks) And that's just what Serena did. First she washed the sap from her hands, then she soaked her feet in the water to get the sap off them. Serena: (thinks) Gosh, this water feels great on my feet. She moved her feet up and down, wiggling her toes in the water and making little splashes. What she didn't know was that there was a school of Tympole close by, and her splashing attracted them to take a look. Up above, Serena was enjoying having her feet in the water so much, that she didn't expect to feel a tickling sensation on her feet. It made her giggle a bit. Serena: (thinks) Hey, what's going on? Looking down, Serena saw what was going on; the school of Tympole were licking the soles of her feet, and her toes. Although she still didn't have her voice, Serena found that she could still giggle... Especially for such a thing like being tickled. Ash noticed this and saw what the Tympole were doing. Ash: Looks like those Tympole discovered that you have ticklish feet. Serena pulled her feet out of the water, and allowed herself a moment to breathe. Suddenly, Ash had a rather sneaky idea... And using his fingers, he started tickling Serena's feet himself, making her giggle some more. When that was over, Serena saw the Z-Ring on Ash's left wrist and the Mega Ring on his right wrist. She pointed to the Z-Ring curiously. Ash: This thing? (points to the Z-Ring) This is a Z-Ring. Within it contains a Z-Crystal called an Electrium Z, which can allow Pikachu to use a Z-Move called Gigavolt Havoc. He then got up and did the same moves he used along with Pikachu to use that move Serena saw them use last night. Ash: You do these moves at the same time as your Pokémon, and their moves can power up into a Z-Move that corresponds to the Z-Crystal you have in your Z-Ring. Serena was impressed. Then she pointed to the Mega Ring on Ash's right wrist. Ash: Oh, and this? (points to the Mega Ring) This is a Mega Ring. Inside it is a Key Stone, which Counselor Oak told me corresponds to the stone that Charizard wears. You've seen that, right? Serena nodded, confirming that she had seen it. Ash: My father gave me these when I was younger. Counselor Oak told me about the Z-Ring and Z-Moves and stuff sometime ago, but he and my father never told me what the Key Stone or Charizard's stone do. Counselor Oak said that I would know the power of the Key Stone and Charizard's stone only when I was ready. Serena then realized something - she never saw Ash's father at the castle. She gave an inquisitive look, as if asking where his father was. Ash: You're wondering where my father is, huh? Serena nodded. Ash: Oh. My father died out at sea when pirates attacked his ship. It was almost 10 years ago. And he said I was to be King someday. Serena immediately felt sorry for Ash. He had lost his father, just like she lost her mother. She held his hand and gave him a smile, a smile that made you feel better, even when someone was really down. Ash: (smiles) Thanks. Serena smiled for him. Later that evening, Ash took Serena for a boat ride through the everglades where it met the ocean. Sandy and Scuttle were worried. Sandy: Hey, move your feathers, will ya? I can't see a thing. Scuttle: Nothing is happening... Only one day left, and that boy ain't puckered up one. Okay. This calls for a li'l vocal romantic stimulation. (flies up to a nearby branch) Stand back. Clearing his throat, Scuttle tried singing Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's "Romeo and Juliet". The problem was, his singing was more like squawking; very terrible squawking. Even Ash took notice of it. Ash: Boy, somebody oughta find that poor Pokémon and give it some singing lessons. Serena tried to smile, but even though she saw Scuttle giving her an "A-Okay" sign, she placed her palm against her face in embarrassment. Even Sebastian, who was also on the boat, unknown to Ash of course, thought Scuttle's squawking was terrible. Sebastian: Sheesh, mon, I'm surrounded by amateurs! (dives into the water and cuts a piece of bamboo like a baton) You want something done, you've got to do it yourself. Coming up to the surface, he comes up to three Ducklett and three Squirtle as he spoke. Sebastian: First, we got to create... Da mood. Percussion... The Ducklett played the Squirtles' bellies like bongos. Next Sebastian turned to a swarm of nearby Kricketunes. Sebastian: Strings... The Kricketunes played, crossing their arms and sounded like violins. Sebastian: Winds... Winds blow on some cut bamboo, creating woodwind-like music. Sebastian: Words. (singing) Dere you see her Sitting dere across de way She don't got a lot to say But dere's somet'ing about her And ya don't know why But you're dying to try You wanna kiss de girl Sebastian popped back into the water before Ash saw him. Ash: Did you hear something? Serena merely smiled and shrugged. Sebastian: (singing) Yes, Ducklett/Squirtle: (joining in) you want her Look at her, you know you do Sebastian: (singing) Possible she wants you too Dere is one way Tropius: (joining in) to ask her It don't take a word Not a single word Go on and kiss de girl Sebastian: (speaks) Sing with me, now. (disappears) Ash wasn't sure who said it. Ash: Serena...? Serena happily nodded yes. Ash: Serena? Serena nodded again, taking his hand. Ash: Huh. Well, that's kinda pretty. (holds hands with her) Okay. Serena... The boat headed to a beautiful weeping willow tree as the song continued. Sebastian: (singing) Go on and Pokémon: (singing) Kiss de girl As their lips were about to touch, the boat was suddenly tipped over, causing Ash and Serena to fall into the water. Sebastian, Sandy, and Scuttle couldn't believe their plan was ruined. They were so close and yet so far, all because of an accident. Ash: (helping Serena up) Hang on, I gotcha. Little did any of them know that it was the Eelektrik twins, Flotsam & Jetsam, who tipped the boat. They congratulated themselves for being so rotten and clever. At her lair, Lusamine watched the couple with her magic bubble. Lusamine: Nice work, you two. That was a close one. Too close. The little tramp! Ugh, she's better than I thought. Going to her cabinet, she growled in exasperation. Lusamine: At this rate, he'll be kissing her by sunset for sure. (throws most of her potions aside until she found what she needed) Well, it's time Morana took matters into her own tentacles! She then mixed the potions she picked into her cauldron. Lusamine: Drayden's daughter will be mine! And then I'll make him writhe. I'll see him wriggle like a worm on a hook! Then she cackled evilly as the potion she made transformed her into something... Something with Serena's voice. Later that night, as fog was rolling in, Ash was playing Serena's melody on his flute. Behind him was his mother, the Queen. Queen Delia: Ash... Ash: Yeah, Mom? Queen Delia: If I may say, far better than any dream girl, is one of flesh and blood... One warm and caring... And right before your eyes. (pause) Whether she sings or not, that girl may be the one you've been looking for all your life. As his mom left, Ash saw Serena brushing her hair at her window. He took a good look and smiled, thinking about how wonderful she was today and yesterday. Then he took a look at the ocean before throwing his flute away into the water. But just as he was about to go see Serena, he heard a voice vocalizing in the distance. The voice sounded beautiful, much like Serena's voice before she sold it to Lusamine. But how could it be? It was the morning of the 3rd, and last, day of Serena being human. Scuttle was flying... Straight toward Serena's window. Scuttle: Serena! Serena, wake up! Wake up! I just heard the news. Congratulations, kiddo, we did it! Serena awoke unaware of what Scuttle was talking about. Serena: (groans, thinks) What's going on? Sebastian woke up as well, not feeling in the mood for Scuttle right now. Sebastian: (yawns) What is dis bird-brain babbling about? Scuttle: Right. As if you two didn't know... The whole town's buzzin' about the prince gettin' himself hitched this afternoon! Serena and Sebastian still had no idea what he was talking about. Scuttle: Y'know, he's getting married. Sebastian: Are you sure? Scuttle: I'm positive, you silly sidewalker! (to Serena) I just wanted to wish ya luck. I'll catch ya later, I wouldn't miss it! (flies away) Serena still wasn't sure about what Scuttle was talking, until she realized something. Serena: (thinks) Maybe... He wants to propose to me! She was so happy, she jumped out of bed, her barefeet slapping against the floor as she danced around with Sebastian and gave him a kiss on the cheek. She quickly brushed her hair and ran down to see Ash, with Sebastian following after her. But as she ran down the stairs, Serena saw something she didn't like. Hiding behind a pillar, she saw Ash, Jacob, and Sally at the main hall, but somehow, Ash was with a girl, a girl in his arms. Somehow, she almost looked like Serena, but whereas Serena's hair was honey-blonde, this girl's hair was light blue, her eyes were red-orange, and she wore a seashell necklace. Jacob: (unsure) Well, uh, er, Ash. I-It appears that A was mistaken. This mystery maiden of yers does i-in fact exist. An-an she is lovely. Sebastian watched this as well. Sally: Uh, yeah. Congratulations... I guess. Though she didn't show it, there was something about this girl that Sally did not like at all. She also noticed how strange Ash was acting. He looked like he was under some sort of spell. Ash: Miette and I wish to be married as soon as possible. Serena didn't like what she had just heard, and neither did Sebastian. Jacob: Och aye, of course, Ash, but, er, these things do take time, ye know... Ash: This afternoon, Jacob. The wedding ship departs at sunset. Jacob: (unsure) Och. Uh, verra well, Ash. Um, er, as ye wish. Serena could not believe what was happening; she knew that at sunset, she would be back as a mermaid. She couldn't believe that Ash would run off with another girl. She started to break into tears as she ran through the hall, past Queen Delia and Counselor Oak who were also worried for the Prince. Queen Delia saw how distressed Serena looked when she ran by. Her Majesty was beginning to enjoy the barefoot girl's company. But there didn't seem to be anything she could do to talk her son out of it. Queen Delia: Counselor Oak, I'm very worried about Ash. Counselor Oak: So am I, Your Majesty. So am I. Unknown to anyone, Miette saw Serena running off, and she smirked with triumph. Sally whispered her uncertainties about Miette to Jacob. Both agreed; there seemed to be more to this girl than meets the eye. That afternoon, as the sun had a few hours before it set, the wedding ship set off. It was a big beautiful boat; elegant as a church, yet it only ran by oars. Everyone was invited to the wedding, except Serena who was left behind on the pier. Serena took a deep breath and a very sad, heartbroken sigh. She couldn't even try to enjoy being barefoot right now as she sat herself down on the pier. Sebastian came next to her, and Serena silently began to cry. Sebastian felt so sorry for her. Sebastian: I'm so sorry, Serena. We tried our best. A tear fell from Serena's eye and dropped to the ocean next to Sandy. The little Alomomola couldn't help but cry herself. Meanwhile, Scuttle was on his way to the wedding at sea when he heard a voice that sounded somewhat... Familiar. Flying towards a window, he took a peak. He saw Miette, but no Serena. Miette: (singing) What a lovely little bride I'll make My dear, I'll look divine Things are working out according to my ultimate design Soon I'll have that little mermaid and the ocean will be mine! As she adjusted her mirror to brush her hair, Scuttle was shocked to see that the mirror revealed that Miette... Was really Lusamine, cackling evilly. Scuttle: The sea witch! (panics) Oh no... She's gonna... I gotta... The goofy Wingull was in such a panic, that he accidentally slamed right into the wall. But he finally managed to fly in the right direction. Scuttle: Serena! Serena! Finally, Scuttle found the three at the pier and landed. Scuttle: Serena. (pants) I was flying, I wa... Of course I was flying. Sebastian tried to be patient as Scuttle continued to try and find his words. Scuttle: An'... I s-I saw that the watch-the witch was watchin' a mirror, and she was singin' with a stolen set o' pipes! Finally, Scuttle grabbed Sebastian and shook him like a ragdoll. Scuttle: Do you hear what I'm tellin' you?! THE PRINCE IS MARRYING THE SEA WITCH IN DISGUISE! Serena: (gasps, thinks) Oh no! Sebastian: Are you sure about dis? Scuttle: Have I ever been wrong? I mean, when it's important?! (realizes) Never mind, don't answer that question. Sandy: (gasps) Oh my gosh! Serena, Sebastian, I just remembered! Last night I saw Morana's two Eelektrik bumping the boat on purpose. Sebastian: (gasps) But dat means last night's plan was no accident; It was sabotaged! Oh, I knew dat witch wouldn't keep her word. Sandy: Oh, what're we gonna do? Serena stood up and looked at the sunset, with the words of the sea witch echoing in her mind. Lusamine's Voice: Before the sun sets on the third day... day... day... Serena now knew what she had to do. Serena: (thinks) I've got to stop Lusamine before it's too late. She quickly dove into the ocean, but she still couldn't swim with her own legs very well. Sebastian saw this, and used his pincers to cut ropes that tied some barrels, causing them to fall and float in the ocean. Sebastian: Serena, grab onto dat barrel! Serena grabbed onto a barrel that was tied with a rope that had one loop. Sebastian: Sandy, get her to dat boat as fast as your fins can carry you! Sandy: (nods) I'll try! Getting herself into the loop of the rope, Sandy began to pull Serena and swam like she was racing against time. Sebastian: I gotta get to de sea king. He must know about dis. Scuttle: Well, what about me? What about...? Sebastian: You, find a way to STALL DAT WEDDING! Scuttle gave a salute as Sebastian swam back into the ocean. Scuttle: Stall the wedding. W-What am I - What... That's it! Scuttle flew out to the bayou, calling out an SOS to all the Pokémon. He cawed to Duckletts, Swannas, Claunchers, Clawitzers, Staryus, Starmies, Laprases, and even Seels, Dewgongs, Popplios, Brionnes, and Primarinas. Scuttle: (calls out) Move it! Let's go, we got an emergency here! With that, all the Pokémon who could were on their way to stall the wedding for Serena. Meanwhile, at the wedding ship, nearly all the guests were eager to see the bride and groom as they walked through the bridal march music. All except for Jacob, Sally, Queen Delia, Counselor Oak, and of course Pikachu and Charizard. Pikachu: (snarls) Pika... Charizard: (growls softly) The Queen and Counselor heard them and tried to calm them down. Counselor Oak: Calm down, Charizard. Queen Delia: (pets Pikachu) Yes, yes, I know. This isn't like Ash at all. This'll break Serena's heart. (thinks) I so hope Ash will reconsider. Counselor Oak: (thinks) This could be bad... Very bad. As they made it to the end of the aisle, the ceremony began. Priest: Dearly beloved... Out on the ocean, not too far away from the boat, Serena and Sandy were trying to reach it in time. Sandy was struggling as she swam and pulled the rope as Serena clung onto the barrel. Sandy: (pants) Don't worry, Serena. W-We're gonna make it. W-We're almost there. As the ceremony continued, Miette/Lusamine looked at the sun setting down with an evil smirk. Priest: Yes, um, do you Ash, take Miette, to be your lawfully wedded wife, for as long as you both shall live? Ash: I do. Priest: Eh, and do you... But before it was Miette/Lusamine's turn to say "I do", she heard an annoying cawing. Suddenly, Scuttle, and the other bird Pokémon swooped above her and again, under her. The Pokémon whom Scuttle called for help began to reek havoc on the boat. Pelippers splashed water on her, a Clauncher pinched her nose, and Staryus and Starmies pounced on top of her. Priest: Then by the power... Miette: Get away from me ya slimy little... Suddenly, the Dewgongs lifted her with their noses like a ball. Outside of the ship, Serena and Sandy made it. Now all she had to do was to climb up to the deck. Meanwhile, some Walrein bounced Miette/Lusamine up and down, and landed on top of the cake, ruining it. Serena finally made it onto the deck as a few Primarina and Lapras splashed water in Miette/Lusamine's face and Scuttle gave a loud squawk. Miette: Oh, why you little...! She grabbed him by the neck as he grabbed her seashell necklace. Queen Delia and Sally tried to hold Pikachu while Counselor Oak and Jacob tried to control Charizard, but they ran loose. Miette/Lusamine and Scuttle were still struggling against each other as Pikachu and Charizard came up behind her. Sparks of lightning came from Pikachu's cheeks, and a ball of energy began to form from Charizard's mouth. Pikachu: Pika... Pika... Pika... Charizard: (growls) Sally: Pikachu, no! Jacob: Charizard, stop! Pikachu: PIKACHU!!! Charizard: (roars) Pikachu fired a Thunder attack and Charizard fired a powerful Dragon Pulse attack at Miette/Morana, zapping and torching her body. Scuttle finally threw the shell from her necklace, which flew through the air and smashed right near Serena's barefeet. When it smashed, Serena's voice started vocalizing. Ash was no longer hypnotized, but didn't remember what had happened. Everyone was in complete awe. Jacob: Great Scott... Sally: Oh my... Serena's voice finally returned to her throat; she finished vocalizing to the part when her voice was taken. Ash: Serena? Serena: Ash! Pikachu: Pika! Pikachu! Pikachu was happy to hear her voice as he jumped up to her. Serena happily cupped Pikachu into her arms, giving him a hug. Pikachu: Pikachu... Serena: (giggles) Hi, Pikachu. Then Charizard came up and gave Serena a big lick to the cheek before giving both Serena and Pikachu a big bear hug. Serena: (feeling squished) H-Hi, Charizard. Charizard realized was he was doing and stopped, placing Serena back onto the deck, while Pikachu hopped back down. Ash: (to Serena) Y-You can talk. Ash was so excited, he ran over to her, each holding hands. Ash: It is you! You're the one. Miette: (Lusamine's voice) Ash, get away from her! (gasps) Ash: I-It was you all the time. Serena: Oh, Ash... Miette: (Lusamine's voice) Ash, NO! Just as Ash and Serena were about to kiss, the sun was suddenly gone from the sky. Serena gasped as she fell from Ash's arms and onto the deck. Her beautiful legs and barefeet went back as one mermaid tail again. Ash: (gasps) Serena? A-Are you...? Serena: I'm sorry, Ash. I-I wanted to tell you... (sniffles) I... I'm a mermaid. Miette: (Lusamine's voice) You're too late! (cackles) YOU'RE TOO LATE!! With that, Morana revealed her true form, causing everyone onboard to gasp in horror. Jacob: No... It cannae be. Sally: Gosh. Queen Delia: My goodness. Counselor Oak: Inconceivable. Lusamine crawled through the crowd and grabbed Serena. Lusamine: (to Ash) So long, loverboy. With that, she dove back into the ocean with Serena. Ash: Serena! Ash saw them swimming down into the deep sea. Meanwhile, down under the sea, Lusamine still had Serena within her grasp, with Flotsam & Jetsam accompanying their mistress. Serena: You tricked me! You've ruined my chance with Ash! Let me go!! Lusamine: (chuckles) Oh, poor little princess, it's not you I'm after. I've a much bigger fish to fry. Suddenly... King Drayden: Lusamine, stop! King Drayden pointed his trident towards Lusamine, aside him was Sebastian. Lusamine: Why, King Drayden. Ha ha ha, how are you? King Drayden: Let. Her. Go. Lusamine: Not a chance, Drayden! She's mine now. We made a deal. She showed him the contract while her Eelektrik held Serena back. Serena: Daddy, I'm sorry! I-I-I didn't mean to. I didn't know... King Drayden charged his trident and zapped at the contract, also causing Lusamine to collide against a rock cliff. But the contract wasn't destroyed. Lusamine: (chuckles evilly) You see? The contract's legal, binding and completely unbreakable... Even for you. Of course, I always was a girl with an eye for a bargain. The daughter of the great sea king is a very precious commodity. She pulled out a vial and the magic from it slowly started to turn Serena into one of her kelp creatures. Lusamine: But... I might be willing to make an exchange... For someone even better... King Drayden was worried, but he had no choice but to hear her offer. Up on the surface, Prince Ash was rowing on a lifeboat, with Pikachu accompanying him. Jacob: Ash! What're ye doin', laddie?! Ash: Jake, I lost her once. I'm not gonna lose her again! Jacob: But Ash...! Voice: That's enough. Jacob and Sally turn to Queen Delia. Though she was concerned, she smiled, especially after seeing her son being so brave. Sally: Your Majesty? Queen Delia: Let him go. My son has made his decision. Counselor Oak: I'm with the Queen on this one. And... I know his father would've done the same thing. Queen Delia: That he would. Be careful, Ash! Ash: Thanks, mom! Charizard, stay with the ship and look after everyone! Charizard, being as loyal to Ash as much as Pikachu was, nodded his head while Ash and Pikachu set off to save Ash's little mermaid. Counselor Oak meanwhile looked at Charizard, then toward the Mega Stone. Counselor Oak: Charizard, I believe the time to use the power of that Mega Stone could be close at hand. Jacob: (gasps) Counselor... Ye're no' sayin'... Counselor Oak nodded as they looked back toward Ash and Pikachu. Ash: (thinks) Hang on, Serena! I'm on my way! Meanwhile, Serena was getting closer and closer to becoming one of Lusamine's kelp creatures. Lusamine: Now... Do we have a deal? After thinking it over, King Drayden decided he had no choice, and using his trident, signed the contract over Serena's signature. Lusamine: Ha! It's done then. Serena was back to normal, but now the magic began its work on King Drayden. Serena: No... NO! All while Lusamine laughed evilly. Above the water, Ash and Pikachu saw the light from Lusamine's magic and got ready to dive. Ash: Ready, Pikachu? Pikachu: (nods) Pika! When the magic twister cleared, King Drayden was turned into a kelp creature. Sebastian: Oh, Your Majesty... Serena: Daddy? No... Lusamine: (picks on crown) At last... It's mine. She grabbed the trident, laughing evilly in triumph. Lusamine: Dear Drayden... (chuckles) I hope you enjoy the garden... As much as I will enjoy the palace! (cackles evilly) Serena: You... (grabs Lusamine) You monster! Lusamine: (throws Serena aside) Don't fool with me, ya little brat! (points the trident at Serena) Contract or no, I'll blast... (in pain) AAAAHH! She screamed as an Iron Tail attack left a gash on her arm. They all turned and saw Ash and Pikachu. Serena: Ash! Lusamine: Why, you little fool! (holds Serena down with one of her tentacles) Serena: Ash, Pikachu, look out! Lusamine: (to Flotsam & Jetsam) After him! Flotsam & Jetsam swam to get Ash. As soon as he and Pikachu came up for air, the Eelektriks grabbed him and pulled him back into the sea. Pikachu: Pikapi! (dives back in) Sebastian: C'mon! Pikachu, along with Sebastian and Sandy came to Ash's rescue. Sebastian used Vice Grip on Flotsam; Sandy blinded Jetsam with her Bubble Beam, then Pikachu used Volt Tackle to push the two aside, giving Ash time to get away. Lusamine: Say goodbye to your sweetheart, and his little rat too. Lusamine pointed the trident and charged it, ready to attack Ash and Pikachu. But Serena yanked at Lusamine's hair, causing her to accidentally zap the two Eelektrik and disintegrated them both. Lusamine: Babies! My poor little poopsies! (growls) Seeing Ash, Serena, and Pikachu escaping with anger in her eyes, Lusamine charged the trident. Sebastian and Sandy witnessed one of the most horrible things that has ever happened. Above the sea, Serena swam to Ash. Serena: Ash, you've gotta get away from here! Ash: No, I'm not leavin' you! Serena: But why? Ash: (hugging her) I'd rather die than lose you again. Serena: Oh, Ash... (weeps a bit) Meanwhile, Pikachu noticed the water bubbling around them. Pikachu: (looks around) Pika? Pikachu! Serena: What's wrong, Pikachu? Suddenly, out of the water, Lusamine became bigger... And bigger... And bigger! Her evil cackle soon evolved into a guttural laugh as she finished growing giant. Lusamine: You pitiful, insignificant fools! Ash: Look out! All three dodged one of her tentacles coming down towards them. Lusamine: (conjuring up a storm) Now I am the ruler of all the ocean! The waves obey my every whim! Serena: Ash! The waves causes Ash and Pikachu to be separated from Serena. Lusamine: The sea and all its spoils bow to my power!!!! (echoes) She then used the trident to create a huge whirlpool and the sunken ships below to rise from it. Serena grabbed onto a nearby rock. Soon she spied Ash and Pikachu getting thrashed by the waves. Serena: ASH! Fortunately, both Ash and Pikachu wasted no time as they managed to get onto one of the sunken ships. Just then, Lusamine saw Serena and zapped the rock that she was on, causing her to fall into the eye of the whirlpool. Ash and Pikachu saw Lusamine attempt to zap Serena, and both Trainer and Pokémon knew that they had to destroy the sea witch before it was too late. Suddenly, Lusamine was blasted from behind. Morana: (growls) Who dares fire upon me?! (looks) It was Ash's Charizard, who roared into the sky and had fired a Dragon Pulse attack at the enlarged Lusamine. Despite being a fire-type, Charizard was far too brave to let a little water, his weakness, stop him from helping his master and the love of his life. Charizard fired another Dragon Pulse, which scored a direct hit into Lusamine's right eye, causing her great pain as the Dragon Pulse scorched it. Then he flew over to Ash and Pikachu, who had seen what had happened from the ship. Ash: Charizard, you came to help! Charizard: (nods, growls) Ash: (smiles) Thank you. Pikachu: (nods) Pikachu! Then Charizard began growling as if he were trying to say something. Then Ash remembered something. He closed his eyes, and concentrated... In his mind, using the power of Aura which was passed down from his father, Ash could hear what Charizard was trying to tell him - it was something Charizard had learned through Counselor Oak. Ash: There's a way to save Serena and destroy the sea witch... If we use the power of your Mega Stone and my Key Stone? Charizard nodded. Then Ash looked at his Mega Ring on his right wrist. Then, touching the Key Stone with his left index finger, something miraculous happened. Tendrils of light shot out, and snaked towards Charizard. Then, tendrils of light came out from the Mega Stone Charizard had on his collar, and linked with Ash's lights. The light encompassed Charizard, and he began to change. Charizard's skin turned black with a sky blue underside extending from his lower jaw to the tip of his tail. Two spikes with blue tips curved upward from the front and back of each shoulder, while the tips of the horns sharpened, turned blue, and curved right. His claws became larger, his snout shorter, his eyes now red with white pupils. Then small fin-like spikes appeared under each of his horns and two more down his lower back. The lower trims of his wings divided into large rounded points and each third joint adorned with claw-like spikes. Finally, he breathed blue flames out the sides of his mouth and the flame on his tail burned blue with increased heat. When Charizard became visible in the light, the light surrounding him vanished as he roared out. Now, he was Mega Charizard X! Ash and Pikachu were very surprised at Charizard's new form. Even Lusamine, who was still in pain and having lost sight in her right eye saw this transformation. Ash: (in awe) Amazing. (thinks) So this is Mega Evolution. I'll have to thank Counselor Oak for relaying this information. Pikachu: (in awe) Pika. Then Ash saw the splintered bow at the front of the ship. Ash: (determined) Right, Charizard, we've gotta destroy that sea witch! Serena must be down in the eye of that whirlpool. I need you to go down and protect her. Pikachu and I will help out up here. Mega Charizard X nodded and flew out toward the whirlpool. But first, he decided to test how powerful his Flamethrower had gotten now. And he knew just what to test it on. He fired a blue colored Flamethrower at Lusamine's already damaged eye and caused her more pain. Ash and Pikachu saw this and were even more amazed. It was like that attack had become 10 times more powerful. Then Mega Charizard X spied Serena down in the eye of the whirlpool, and did a power dive to reach her while Ash and Pikachu took control of the ship. Down in the eye of the whirlpool, Serena felt helpless. Then she saw Mega Charizard X standing before her. Mega Charizard X peeked behind him, looking down at Serena. Serena: Ch-Charizard? Mega Charizard X nodded, then looked up and growled as Lusamine attempted to zap at Serena. Mega Charizard X used Dragon Pulse to counter the lightning. Twice this tactic worked, but on the third zap, Mega Charizard X became temporarily immobilized. Serena: (gasps) Charizard, no! With Ash's Charizard temporarily immobilized, Lusamine finally had Serena right where she wanted her, as she laughed evilly with murder in her eyes. Lusamine: (laughs wickedly) So much for true love! But Ash and Pikachu used this distraction to prepare their Z-Move. Ash: Pikachu, use Gigavolt Havoc! Pikachu unleashed Gigavolt Havoc on the witch, zapping and immobilizing her. Meanwhile, Mega Charizard X had recovered from his electric ordeal and with a roar, flew up to help finish off the sea witch once and for all. Mega Charizard X first unleased a Fire Blast, then merged it with a Dragon Pulse. The combined blast made contact with Lusamine's damaged eye once more, giving Ash enough time to skewer the witch with the ship's splintered bow. Lusamine screamed in agony as lightning from the storm struck the bow, electrocuting her. As Mega Charizard X managed to fly Ash and Pikachu to safety, Lusamine sank into the sea, sinking to her death, and the sea started to foam, bubble and smoke. Sebastian and Sandy were above the sea and had seen the whole thing before going back down to the sea themselves. As he flew, Charizard reverted back to his original form. Exhausted, Ash and both of his Pokémon fell on the sand away from the sea. But all three felt satisfied, knowing that now the sea witch Lusamine was finally destroyed. Ash: (thinks) Thank you, Dad, for entrusting this Z-Crystal, Key Stone and Mega Stone to me. With Lusamine's destruction, all of the kelp creatures in her lair began to return to their normal forms as merpeople. The trident fell to the bottom of the sea where King Drayden stood and he too is changed back to normal. Just then, Serena swam up to him and hugged him around the neck. Serena: (weeps) Oh, daddy! (sniffles) Daddy, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. And I didn't mean it when I said I hated you... King Drayden: (returns the hug) Shh. It's alright, sweetheart. It's alright. Then breaking away the hug, Serena looked up looked up the surface of the sea, looking very sad. Next morning, Serena watched Ash and his Pokémon from a rock. Behind her were King Drayden and Sebastian. King Drayden: She really does love him, doesn't she, Sebastian? Sebastian: (nods) Mmm. Well, it's like I always say, Your Majesty; Children got to be free to lead dere own lives. King Drayden: You... Always say that? Sebastian chuckled modestly, as King Drayden took another look toward his youngest daughter. King Drayden: (sighs) Well... Then I guess there's just one problem left. Sebastian: And what's dat, Your Majesty? King Drayden: How much I'm going to miss her. Sebastian wasn't entirely sure about what King Drayden was talking about. But then, King Drayden used his trident to cast magic upon Serena. Serena looked down and gasped as she saw something miraculous happening. She saw her father and smiled in ecstasy. Seeing her father return her smile, Serena went back into the water. Serena: (thinks) Ash is in for quite a surprise. Ash, Pikachu, and Charizard awoke and Pikachu saw something wondrous. Pikachu: (to Ash) Pikapi! (points toward the sea) Ash: (yawns) What is it, Pikachu? Looking towards the sea, Ash saw something that made his heart skip a beat; Serena, in a pink sparkly dress, and human once more, walking from the sea towards him. Ash: Serena? Serena! (runs to her) Serena: Ash! The two lovers ran to each other, with Ash lifting Serena in the air and twirling her around before placing her feet first back onto the wet sand, before they shared a hug. Ash: But, but how? Serena: My father. (points to him) This time, it's permanent. I'm a human forever! Now I can enjoy the feeling of the sand, the grass, everything under my barefeet again! Ash looked down at Serena's feet as she spread her toes out and let bits of sand go between them. Ash chuckled and blushed a bit upon seeing this. Serena: Do you... Like my feet, Ash? Ash: Well, it's not something I like to admit... But... I've kinda had a thing for girls' feet for as long as I can remember. When I was a baby, I used to play with and tickle my mom's feet whenever I got the chance. Serena: (blushing) Really? Ash: Yeah. And I gotta say, your feet are one of the best things I like about you. Serena: Is that why you played with my feet the other day at the lagoon? Ash: Well, there is that. It kinda brought back old memories. Plus I had a feeling you had ticklish feet when those Tympole were tickling you. Serena: (giggles) Well, I just didn't know they were so ticklish. (pause) But what about your Charizard? H-How did he change form like that? Ash: It was my Key Stone. (points to it) Apparently, it and Charizard's Mega Stone have the power to change him through a process called Mega Evolution. Serena: Mega Evolution? Ash: (chuckles) I just found out. Thanks to my gift of using Aura, I learned through Charizard, who learned through Counselor Oak, about the power these stones have. Serena: Aura? Ash: Yeah. It's a power that's been passed down through my family. Pikachu and Charizard nodded. Just then, King Drayden came over, with Sebastian following close behind. King Drayden: (to Ash) So, you're the human who saved my daughter, Serena. Ash: Y-Yes. (pause) Are you... King Drayden, the ruler of Samiya? King Drayden: (nods, smiles) I am. And your name is Ash, is it not? Ash: (in awe) Y-Yes, sir. Wow. (chuckles uneasily) Some said you were only a superstition. But... (kneels) It's an honor to meet you in person, Your Majesty. King Drayden: The honor is mine. But... (pause) I believe I owe you and your kind an apology. Pikachu: (confused) Pi? King Drayden: You see, many years ago, my wife, Queen Cynthia, was killed by human pirates while trying to save our daughters. Ever since then, I felt that all humans were incapable of any feelings. Well, at first Ash was at a loss for words. Serena suddenly remembered. Serena: (gasps) I remember now. Hilda was caught between some rocks in a lagoon, and mom went to save her. King Drayden: Yes. Your mother was not only my wife, but also my best friend. Ash: (pause) My father was killed by pirates too. He, too, was a King, and was very respectful of everyone, including Pokémon, whether they came from the land, the sky, or the sea. In fact, it was my father who gave me this Electrum Z on my left wrist, and this Key Stone on my right, which give my Pikachu and my Charizard some needed power boosts. King Drayden: (pause, touched) Well, I'm... Sure your father was a brave man. Ash: Yes, sir. He was. Serena smiled as it seemed Ash and her father had found some common ground with each other, both realizing that they both lost loved ones. King Drayden: (to Ash) Well, thanks to you and my daughter, I realize now that not all humans are bad. You've certainly proven that to me. And you, young man, you saved not only my daughter, but you also saved me, and my kingdom. Ash: (blushes) Well, sire, I couldn't have done it without Pikachu or Charizard here. Pikachu: (gives a thumbs up) Pi-Pikachu! Charizard growled as he also gave a thumbs up. King Drayden: (nods) Yes, it's good of you to share credit where credit is do. But you have my thanks, young Ash. I owe you a debt that I will never be able to repay. Ash: Well... With your blessings... (looks to Serena, goes to one knee) I'd like make Serena... My wife. Serena gasped and smiled as she clapped her hands together. Ash: (to King Drayden) Would that be alright, Your Majesty? King Drayden: (smiles) Well, I believe my daughter can answer that question herself. Serena squealed in ecstasy and hugged Ash. Serena: YES! Yes, of course I will marry you! Pikachu and Charizard were both happy for their Trainer. Ash: And you can go around the kingdom barefoot for as long as you like, too. Serena: Oh, Ash... The two lovers then shared their first kiss, with Serena popping her right barefoot in the air. Later on, a great celebration of the wedding of Prince Ash and Princess Serena was held by the sea. Pikachu jumped for joy into Ash's arms, giving both him and Serena a lick. Charizard gave them each a big bear hug before letting out a Flamethrower into the sky. Everyone onboard the wedding ship was happy, but none more so than Jacob and Sally. But Jacob tried not to show it, unsuccessfully of course. Sally: (noticing) Jake... Are you crying? Jacob: (sniffles) Me? Er, of course no'! Tis... Tis liquid pride. Completely different. Sally: (unbelievingly, nods) Right... And for the first time, humans, merpeople and their sea Pokémon friends met and became firm friends. The now Dowager Queen Delia was happy as well, as happy as when she and her late husband were first married. Dowager Queen Delia: I'm so happy, Ash. Your father would be proud. King Ash blushed as his mother kissed him on the forehead. Then Her Majesty turned to the crowd to make an announcement, and Counselor Oak called out to everyone. Counselor Oak: Can everyone settle down, please? The Dowager Queen Delia has something to say! Dowager Queen Delia: Thank you, Counselor Oak. (to everyone) Ladies and gentlemen, Lords and Ladies, and especially Merpeople and Pokémon, through the wedding of King Ash and Queen Serena, a new Kingdom is born. (to Ash and Serena) And as Dowager Queen, I shall support you both. King Ash: (pause) Thanks, Mom. Dowager Queen Delia: And for my new daughter-in-law... One of her maids brought something over to Queen Serena. Queen Serena: What's this? Dowager Queen Delia: A Pokémon egg. Queen Serena: (takes the egg) Really? Counselor Oak gave Ash an egg as well. Counselor Oak: I believe it's time you had another addition to your team, Ash. King Ash: (takes the egg) Thanks, Counselor Oak. Suddenly, both eggs began to glow, startling royal couple. Queen Serena: (gasps) What's happening? King Ash: I think they're starting to hatch. Indeed they were. As soon as the glow died down, there in its place, right in Serena's arms, was a pale yellow fured fox-like Pokémon with dark orange fur covering the inside of its large ears, with a white muzzle with longer fur on its cheeks. While with Ash, in his arms was a light-blue skinned frog-like Pokémon with a mane of bubbles from chest and back called Frubbles. Fennekin: (yawns) Fenn... (looks up at Serena) Fennekin. Froakie: (yawn) Froa... (looks to Ash) Froakie-kie. Queen Serena: (gasps) Oh... how sweet. (tears up) What Pokémon is this? Sally: It's a Fennekin. Ash: Wow, and this is a Froakie, right? Counselor Oak: Yes. We got them from a daycare who specializes in raising Pokémon eggs. Jacob: Twas Her Majesty, Dowager Queen Delia's, idea. As they talked, Queen Serena's Fennekin came up and gave her a lick on the cheek. King Ash: You like her, Serena? Queen Serena: Oh, I love her! Almost as much as I love all my friends, my family... And even you, Ash. King Ash blushed when she said this and looked at Froakie, who brought his hands together and bowed to his new trainer. Counselor Oak: Ah. Looks like Froakie has accepted you as his trainer, Ash. King Ash: Well, that's great. Welcome to the family, Froakie. Froakie: (smiles) Froakie-kie. Then, hopping down to the deck, he introduced himself to Pikachu and Charizard, who readily accepted the newcomer and teammate. Queen Serena: (to Queen Dowager Delia) Oh, thank you. Thank you so much, Your Majesty. (gives Dowager Queen Delia a big hug) Dowager Queen Delia: (returns the hug) Anything for my new daughter-in-law, and please, feel free to call me Mom. Queen Serena nodded, then saw Scuttle carrying Sandy over. Placing Fennekin on the deck, Queen Serena walked over to her friends. Sandy: (sniffles) I... I guess this is goodbye, Serena. Now that you're human... you won't be able to see us anymore. Queen Serena comforted her weeping Alomomola friend. Queen Serena: It's okay, Sandy. As soon as Ash and I return from our honeymoon, you can come and visit. Sandy: (weeps) W-We can? Queen Serena: Of course. We'll always be friends. (kisses Sandy on the forehead) Thanks for your help, Scuttle. As she petted her goofy Wingull friend, Scuttle gave a little blush. Scuttle: Aw, shucks... Suddenly, Queen Serena felt a tickling sensation around her barefeet that made her giggle. Looking down she saw... Fennekin licking her toes. Queen Serena: (giggles) Fennekin, what're you doing? Fennekin didn't answer; she just continued licking her toes. This made Queen Serena laugh uncontrollably and scrunch up her toes. Suddenly, Ash's Pikachu decided to join in on the fun, and started licking her toes as well. Serena laughed so hard, she fell onto the deck and this left her bare soles exposed to Pikachu and Fennekin, who happily started tickling them. King Ash, Dowager Queen Delia, Counselor Oak, Jacob and Sally just watched in amusement. Soon, Pikachu and Fennekin stopped to allow Serena a chance to get her breath back. Queen Serena: (pants) Hey, where's Sebastian? Sebastian was near the wedding cake, with figurines of King Ash and Queen Serena in his claws. To say he was happy would be putting it mildly. Suddenly he saw Burgundy with a cleaver in her hands. She had a mad look on her face. Burgundy: Aha! There vous are, you little punk! Sebastian managed to dodge getting chopped by her cleaver, and ran away, making Burgundy give chase. Burgundy: Come back here, tout de suite!! Sebastian then saw some pullies and rope, and this gave him idea. Smiling, he allowed Burgundy to get a bit closer, until he used his pincers to cut the rope, causing a wooden pole to come down and WHAM! It bashed Burgundy right in the face, knocking her over and making her quite dizzy. Burgundy: (slurs) Mama, can I ride the Ponyta next...? Happy with his accomplishment, Sebastian jumped back into the sea, where he joined Sandy and Scuttle. Sebastian: (laughs) Yes! T'ank you, t'ank you. Meanwhile, as King Ash and Queen Serena were about to set sail for their honeymoon, King Ash said his goodbyes to his mother and Counselor Oak; and Queen Serena said goodbyes to each one of her older sisters. When it was Hilda's turn, she gave Queen Serena a big hug. Hilda: Mom would be proud. Queen Serena: (nods) Thanks, Hilda. Then King Drayden came up and gave her a big hug. King Drayden: Always remember, my little mermaid... Whenever you're lost at sea, your family will always be there to guide you. Queen Serena: I know. And there's one thing that will never change... I will always love you, Daddy. This made King Drayden happy, knowing that he had finally redeemed himself for his daughter and his late wife. Queen Serena then looked over to King Ash, who gave a very respected bow to his father-in-law. King Drayden smiled as he accepted King Ash as part of the family, and son-in-law, all while the Pokémon of the sea and the servants aboard the ship all joined in song. Sea Pokémon and servants: (singing) Ahhhh And now at last, love has surpassed each tribulation Mermaid and man finally can join and be one King Drayden gave his daughter one last kiss before departing. As the wind began to pick up the sails, Queen Serena blew a kiss to her father and sisters before joining arms with King Ash. Jacob and Sally: (singing) Now they can smile, walking the aisle Here at their Wedding Celebration King Ash: (singing) Sailing forward Queen Serena: (singing) Standing steady King Ash and Queen Serena: (singing) Starting life, completely ready Sea Pokémon and servants: (singing) Now they can be who they're meant to be Now they can gaze on a new horizon, here between ocean and sky Forever and on! Jacob and Sally: (sings) Now they can walk Now they can run Now they can stay all day in the sun King Ash: (singing) Just you and me Queen Serena: (singing) And I will be All: (singing) Part of Your World The newly married Royal couple and their Pokémon each waved goodbye to Serena's family. But to make this day especially beautiful, King Drayden dipped his trident in the water, and with a great smile, he cast a huge and beautiful rainbow across the kingdom and the entire ocean. Then King Ash and Queen Serena moved in and kissed once more, with Queen Serena so happy that she popped her right barefoot into the air once again. And whether they lived on land or sea, they all lived... Happily Ever After. THE END
