  • A continent (or landmass) is the largest geographical subdivision of a planet or world. Continents, which can actually be parts of larger continents, are broken down into regions or zones, but some break them down into groups of regions or zones called subcontinents.
  • The Continent is a major land mass on the south of the Sunder Sea below Ancelstierre. It has many wars but the most notable being the major one during Lirael and Abhorsen which causes the Southerlings to cross into Ancelstierre. It contains the countries of Iskeria, Kalarime, Iznenia and Korrovia
  • According to the Fire Emblem maps, there are two continents containing eight countries each: Elibe and Magvel.
  • The Continent is the setting of Melanie Rawn's fantasy novels of the Dragon Prince and Dragon Star Trilogies.
  • A continent is one of several large landmasses on Earth. They are generally identified by convention rather than any strict criteria, with seven regions commonly regarded as continents – they are (from largest in size to smallest): Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, and Australia.
  • A continent is a large landmass on an Earth-like planet, contrasted to the ocean. They are formed by the differentiation of light silicon/aluminum rock from the denser silicon/magnesium rock forming the sub-ocean crust.
  • A continent is a large land mass separated from other continents by large bodies of water (oceans or seas) or another geographical feature such as mountains. On Earth, continents include: * Africa * Antarctica * Asia * Australia * Europe * North America * South America Some geography sources combine Europe and Asia into one continent, and others include various other areas like Oceania as another continent. The Atlantis project on Earth was charged with creating another continent on the planet. (TNG: "Family")
  • A continent (Latin continere, "to hold together") is a large continuous land mass. There are several conceptions of what a continent is, geographic, geologic, and tectonic.
  • A continent was a sizeable landmass on a planet. Usually, continents were separated from one another by bodies of water, mountain ranges or other geographical features. (SCE eBooks: Ishtar Rising, Book 1, Ishtar Rising, Book 2) Continents were either named individually or identified by their location on the planet, e.g. northern continent. Continents were larger than islands, and could include subcontinents.
  • In geology, a continent is a vast chunk of rock and dirt which floats on the watery surface of the planets Earth and Neptune, much as a bar of Ivory™ soap floats in a tub full of molten mercury. Traditionally continents are viewed as larger versions of islands, but with more palm trees and more coconut friends. Continents also tend to be made up of many smaller individual nations who don't like each other very much but who are forced to live nextdoor to each other purely due to an accident of birth.
  • The unnamed Continent is where the Northern Kingdoms and the Nilfgaardian Empire lie. They are located somewhere on its western coast. Other places on the Continent include the Korath desert, Zerrikania and Haakland. Hannu, Zangwebar, Barsa, and Ofir may or may not be on the same continent as well, though both are described as being "across the seas".
  • Kontynent lub ląd to największa jednostka podziału na planecie lub świecie. Kontynenty, które w rzeczywistości mogą być częściami większych kontynentów, dzielą się na regiony i strefy.
  • A Continent is one of the main areas the Tales Of Pirates game is played in. There are 3 currently available in the game: * Ascaron * Magic Ocean * Deep Blue

  • The planet Earth had seven continents, namely Antarctica, South America, North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. By the late 24th century, efforts were under way to create the eighth continent, Atlantis, in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. (TNG: "Family" ) While on Earth, each continent had its own unique name; it was also common on other planets to name a continent by means of its location on the planet, for example Northern Continent or Western Continent.
  • A continent is a really big landmass with countries on it, that has been blessed by our lord and savior Jesus H. Christ. All the continents were created on the 3rd day of the first week ever by God.

  • Continents are major landmasses on the worlds across the multiverse.
  • Continents are large, seperate islands. There are 7 continents in Flyff, most of which have a main city in them. Each continent is fairly diverse. One cannot go from one continent to another on foot, however flying on a board or broom or teleporting using a blinkwing is required to do so. The 7 continents are Flaris, Saint Morning, Darkon, Bahara Dessert + Kaillun Grassland + Valley Of the Risen + Shaduwar, and the premium continents of Azria, Coral Island and Traseia . Saint Morning contains masqerpets with levels higher than Flaris. The magician job change quest takes place there.
  • A continent (from Liliani, continere, "to hold together") is a large, continuous land mass, by most geographical conventions. However, some large island groups also qualify as their own continents or as part of a continent. For example, Maritimia itself, or as part of Melania. The continents of Vexillium are the following: The division between Old and New Vexillium is along the 90° East and 90° West meridians (except for Polaria and Glaciaria).
  • Continents are the largest areas in the game area that have a separate World Map. Since the map does not show the coastline all around, it is not clear whether different continents are located on separate pieces of landmass. For example it is known that Tyria and Elona are adjacent on the same supercontinent, just like Europe and Asia are linked as Eurasia in real life. Each campaign takes place on a different continent, with a common "core" continent for PvP. A continent usually comprises of several regions, and may include nearby islands.
  • Originally, a large landmass usually referred to as the mainland. Current usage expands the definition to include groups of privately-owned sims (some suggest three or more, some five or more) that form a coherent land mass and maintain some common features--theme and ownership being most evident. The scale of Second Life prevents a signficantly accurate application of the term "continent" to anything other than the entire Metaverse. With a sim side of 256 meters 100 sims laid end to end would represent about 25.6 kilometers, or about 17 miles. See .
  • Plate tectonics is the geological process and study of the movement, collision and division of continents, earlier known as continental drift. The term "the Continent" (capitalized), used predominantly in the European isles and peninsulas such as the British Isles, Sardinia, Sicily, and the Scandinavian Peninsula, means mainland Europe.
  • On Earth, there was at first one massive land mass called Pangaea. (PROSE: The Sword of Forever) This single continent broke apart over the course of millions of years. Eventually its constituent parts settled into a formulation that was known as "Classic Earth". (TV: The End of the World) This "version" of the planet had seven continents: Antarctica, South America, North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. The Earth was restored to "Classic" shortly before its final destruction in 5.5/Apple/26. (TV: The End of the World)
