Eivos Calan was a male Bajoran who lived in the 24th century. In the 2370s, Eivos was a Prylar in the Bajoran religion. In 2376, Eivos worked in the archaeological team in the city of B'hala on Bajor, overseeing students on the site. In that year Jake Sisko was one such student under Eivos's tutorage and considered the Bajoran to be a nice man but rather dry, as he tended talk continuously about whatever subject was at hand. At the time, Eivos was particular intrigued by a jevonite figure found in B'hala, as the mineral was previously only known to exist on Cardassia. (DS9 - Avatar novel: Book One)

(DS9 - Avatar novel: Book One) Eivos later gave the jevonite figure to Kasidy Yates. (DS9 - Mission Gamma novel: Twilight) Eivos Calan later became friends with Benjamin Sisko and Kasidy Yates, who Eivos and his wife Audj lived near. Eivos Calan and his wife died in a fire in 2379, a loss Sisko deeply felt, believing it was further evidence of the Prophets warning to him. Sisko joined the archaeological team excavating B'hala out of respect for Eivos. (ST - Typhon Pact novel: Rough Beasts of Empire)
