| - Arriving in Italy on Soul's motorcycle, she Maka Chops Soul and reminds him they're on an extracurricular activity when he seems more interest in eating exploring the city. Both then attempt to gather more information about Sonson-J from the city. They end up running into members of the Matterazi though Maka is unconcerned as Soul beats all the members on his own.
- In the anime, the story Maka is told is slightly different. Maka is told that long ago, a group Meisters and Weapon under Lord Death's rule were trained to protect the world order much like the DWMA. Despite being forbidden to take the souls of others, these Meisters secretly fed their weapon human souls and a Kishin was born as a result.
- Appearing the the Death Room, Maka demands an explanation from Lord Death on his decision to send Tsubaki and BlackāStar after Masamune. Having been let in the Death Room by Stein and reciting the rule stating students can enter the Death Room at an emergency, Death the Kid and his partners then suddenly arrive as they're all curious on Masamune himself. They learn from Stein of the Uncanny Sword's ability of Soul Possession as well as modus operandi: he takes advantage of other's fears, takes over their soul, and consume the soul and Stein further informs them If he's not stopped, he may become a Kishin as well.
