In the episode, the professor sends out two of his students, Eyegor and Igor, to turn the Smurfs that have entered the forest into monsters so that they don't turn the forest back into being beautiful again, telling them that they won't be able to graduate with their class if they fail. The students succeed in their task by creating a house made of candy and gingerbread that transforms whoever eats it into monsters, although of all the Smurfs that ate of the house, only Papa Smurf, Greedy, and Painter avoided it and remained normal. Nonetheless, the professor was pleased with his two students' efforts and gave them both passing grades. During the Monster Bash that took place that night in a forbidding castle, Papa Smurf, Greedy, and Painter sneaked in with a bag of garlic that they intend to use to change the monster Smurfs back into regular Smurfs. While the professor was playing his pipe organ, Greedy climbed to the top of the organ and dumped the garlic into the pipes so that its odor could reach out to the entire grand hall. The fumes caused both the monster students to cough and the monster Smurfs to change back into regular Smurfs, giving them enough time to escape. The professor turned to the two students responsible for the transformation and flunked them for letting the Smurfs escape. By the end of the episode, the professor's last-ditch effort to capture the Smurfs failed as the time whirlwind carried them away before he and his students could reach them.
