The current epidemic known as "The Sign Plague" was not always around, and the causes of it is currently unknown to the population. Some believe it is a curse cast down by the Creator himself to demand repentance. Only a few of this world know of the real cause of the sign plague... It began with a unidentified human scholar. He lived for the pursuit of knowledge and for perfecting his trade: creating signs. It was said that he was so skilled at calligraphy that his signs were exported to all over Aeonis and even to other Kingdoms.

After hearing of his skill, Primogenitus decided to invite this scholar to his recently constructed Tower of the Followers to test his skill with a quill. On his way to the tower, the scholar pondered over what new information awaited him. As he drew closer and the tower came more and more into view, the scholar's excitement started to grow. By the time he reached the front doors, he could barely contain himself. As the doors opened before him, the Fountain of the Weave in the center of the hall immediately caught his eye. Ecstatic to inspect the grand fountain, he bolted forward, tripping and sliding head first into the fountain. The energy of the fountain un-wove him, however, it did not kill him. Instead, his body was torn apart leaving his soul to linger without a body, trapped within the realm of the living. He is not a ghost, but rather something else. His predicament has given him a single ability. He has learned the art of weaving, but he is only able to create blank signs. He is unable to write anything on them, so he spends his time creating mass amounts of signs, causing mass confusion to the creatures around the magically appearing signs.
