Growing plants are special furniture items that grow and wilt over time, all of which were brought to Club Penguin Island by Rockhopper and sold in Rockhopper's Rare Items. The first, Rare Flower Pot, was sold in April 2008. Unlike the other three, it stays its final stage of growth permanently. The other three (Sprouting Spectaculus, Plantus Fanasticus, and Surprisus Maximus) were all sold in May 2009. These three also tied in with the Adventure Party in June 2009, in which Club Penguin was overgrown by similar giant plants.
