- Night Vision Goggles, also called NVGs or NODs (Night Optical/Observation Devices), are special helmet mounted binoculars used by military forces to allow soldiers to see in low light conditions. The goggles perform this by using an image intensifier, a vacuum-tube device that converts invisible light into visible light to produce a dimly lit image. The AN/PVS series is the one of the more commonly used NVGs by the United States military, along with the more recently developed GPNVP goggles.
- The Night Vision Goggles are a piece of equipment in Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion. In the game, they are obtained early in the level "Seal the Breach" during the chapter "Rooftop Journey" when playing as Joseph Fireseed.
- The Night Vision Goggles are a secret item found in Silent Hill: Origins. To obtain the item, the player must beat the game, having used the flashlight for three hours or less. Fulfilling these criteria unlocks the Stalker accolade, and places the goggles into the player's inventory when starting a new game.
- Night vision goggles were goggles that allowed the wearer to see in low visibility conditions and at night. They were often worn by soldiers in the field.

- The Night Vision Goggles is an item that came with the Spelunkorama! update. It can be bought from the store for 110 Growtokens. It uses up a D Battery for every minute you use them.
- Adding the upgrade gives the monkey a pair of gray goggles with green lenses. nightVisionGoggles.PNG|Night Vision Goggles artwork in BTD5 nightVisionGogglesBMC.PNG|BMC artwork nightVisionGogglesWorld.PNG|Night Vision Goggles monkey
- Night vision devices were first developed in 1935 by German electrical equipment manufacturer AEG, and formally introduced to the Wehrmacht in 1939. By the end of World War II, they were installed into over fifty Panzer tanks, and a man-portable version, the Vampir, was utilized for the Sturmgewehr 44 assault rifle. America also had parallel systems development of the same technology, installing it onto their M1 and M3s and introduced to the United States Army during World War II, although it required infrared sensors in order to be effective.
- A night vision device (NVD) is an optical instrument that allows images to be produced in levels of light approaching total darkness. SG-1 and SG-3 used night vision goggles when they traveled to the Land of Light. (SG1: "The Broca Divide") The Atlantis expedition used night vision goggles when they first traveled to Athos. Later they used them when trying to get Iratus bug eggs from an cave. (SGA: "Rising", "Conversion")
- During the Pendulum Wars, nighttime patrols on the Sarfuth-Maranday border would use NV goggles. Cpl.Marcus Fenix and Pvt.Carlos Santiago used them during the Sarfuth-Maranday Border Incident. During Operation: Leveler, the commandos of the 26 RTI Special Tactics Group wore NV goggles during their infiltration of Aspho Point, and so did the Gears of C Company during the fighting at Aspho Fields.
- Most effective in "normal" darkness, where vision is increased by 2 squares. It can get "really dark", which reduces their effectiveness (not sure exactly when this occurs). "Night ops" adds one additional square per ability level. There is no penalty for wearing night goggles during the day. They do not require batteries as their in-game description suggests.
