Matimba was First Seen in the Gosa Mob as a subordinate juvenile female. The Gosa seemed to have suffered a group split leaving the group with ten members led by Cleopatra and Gandalf. The dominant pair may have been Matimba's mother and father. Two other meerkats, Starsky and Hutch were believed to be her brothers and a young female named Priscilla, who Matimba spent much of her time with, was believed to be her sister. Matimba was described as a caring subordinate in the group, though her brother Starsky sometimes gave her trouble. Starsky accidently knocked them both off a high vantage point, though neither one of them were injured from the fall. In July 2012, Gandalf disappeared leaving young Starsky as the dominant male in his place. Then in August a wild male named Malaki joined the

The dominant pair may have been Matimba's mother and father. Two other meerkats, Starsky and Hutch were believed to be her brothers and a young female named Priscilla, who Matimba spent much of her time with, was believed to be her sister. Matimba was described as a caring subordinate in the group, though her brother Starsky sometimes gave her trouble. Starsky accidently knocked them both off a high vantage point, though neither one of them were injured from the fall. In July 2012, Gandalf disappeared leaving young Starsky as the dominant male in his place. Then in August a wild male named Malaki joined the group and took up dominance. The Gosa disappeared for several weeks in September while Cleopatra was heavily pregnant. The Gosa was relocated in October with four pups. Matimba was seen with the pups often, babysitting and caring for the pups. Sadly one of the pups was lost when it was predated by a monitor lizard. Then in late 2012, the dominant male Malaki was killed by a puff adder, leaving Brutus as the new dominant male. In January 2013, Cleopatra gave birth to five pups. Two of the pups were lost a month later, while one named Daisy was killed by a puff adder. In May 2013 Matimba was evicted while the long-lost leader Gandalf rejoined the group. Then in June 2013 Gandalf overthrew Brutus. That same month Matimba was bitten by a puff adder and dissapeared in the burrow for a day and was believed to have died. However, she reappeared among the Gosa at the burrow the following day, still very weak. Matimba attempted to forage with the group, but couldn't keep up and instead foraged by herself. The day afterwards. Gandalf remained by Matimba's side and ensured that the group stayed with her while she foraged. Matimba is still alive and living in the Gosa today.
