The North American Civil War began on April 12 1861 with The Battle of Fort Sumter. Although it began on April 12 the CSA was already attempting to negotiate as early as February 8. Mexico entered secret negotiations with them, the most famous being The March 18 Bill, banning slavery by March 18 1892. When Quebec declared independence on June 16 1863 the war began to reach into Canada. When after The Siege of Montreal the CSA recognized Quebec as a nation both wars were merged into one war. The French and British were also involved after Quebec declared independence, but this name has stuck.
