They believed that the rest of France was just ordinary and didn't bother to conquer it. For four year they fought Germans troops, when in 1944 a large group of Free French soldiers entered Northern France and got close to Paris. Every time they entered the city, they would let Germans fight them, then the Partisans went in and beat whoever won the battle. This strategy lead to many Germans and Free French troops to avoid the city. For six years after this, they fought both sides hoping to protect Paris from takeover. Then in 1950, revolts in France and Poland broke out after Germany entered a civil war when the Führer was killed by an American Nuclear bomb.
