Mahmur al-Banida would prove to be one of the most important people in the party's history. He came to power in July 2529 and immediately set out to rid the party of Walsingham's disastrous term. He would succeed where Hiroshi Tanahashi failed. Several days after his ascent to power, on July 17, 2529 exactly 34 years after the party's foundation, he transformed the party into the People's Revolutionary Communist Party. This move was not only aesthetic, but also ideological. The party would no longer solely be Trotskyist, but Socialist and Democratic Socialist aswell. He continued leading the party until February 2533 when he was forced to abdicate due to illness. Samantha Coulton briefly took over control of the party, but when al-Banida was cured of his illness in August 2534 he returned
