The Battle of Toprawa was a short battle fought between the Galactic Empire and the New Republic one month after the Battle of Nak Shimor. The battle was designed to restore Imperial confidence after the defeat at Nak Shimor, and to send a message to the Republic that the Empire was still a power to be reckoned with.

| - The Battle of Toprawa was a short battle fought between the Galactic Empire and the New Republic one month after the Battle of Nak Shimor. The battle was designed to restore Imperial confidence after the defeat at Nak Shimor, and to send a message to the Republic that the Empire was still a power to be reckoned with. The Imperial flotilla, under the command of one Admiral Janos, acting under orders from Supreme Commander Terrinald Screed, entered Toprawa space. The Star Destroyers covered the Interdictor cruiser, preventing her from taking damage by the Republic defenders, although her gravity well generators did not start up. Instead, bombers and fighters engaged in a vicious frenzy as the capital ships engaged at long-distance. Towards the middle of the engagement, the gravity wells were finally activated, bringing several Strike cruisers out of a precision microjump, putting them in a well executed position to deploy the 501st Stormtrooper Legion to the planet. The Legion descended upon the planet and immediately set out to occupy several small cities while the bulk of the Legion and Imperial Army armored units descended upon the capital and the military base. Fighting in the forest was tough, but the Imperials ultimately succeeded in sacking the capital and forcing the surrender of General Willard, after threatening to execute civilians in the occupied cities. Stormtroopers also succeeded in capturing the planetary governor, and after making contact with the Republic fleet command, threatened to execute him and more civilians should the fleet not retreat. The Republic fleet had inflicted heavy damage on an Imperial Star Destroyer after a brave last-stand by several gunships, and although they were still in fighting condition, they had no choice but to retreat or suffer the consequences of an all-out genocide. With the fleet gone, the Empire brought in occupying forces, but the 501st Legion had their own plans - they began a massive purge of the civilian population of the capital, with plans to execute every last civilian in the city... death camps were erected, and word began to spread across the galaxy of the genocide undergoing on Toprawa. The Republic planned relief efforts...
