The middle character target bug is a bug found in the NES version of Final Fantasy II. In a party formation during a battle, the middle two characters tend to be attacked far more often than the top or bottom slot characters, and if one character were to be put in the back row out of those two characters, the character in the front row would take as many hits as the other character combined.
