The Úyúló-class cruiser was an Ingzan cruiser based on the Strike-class medium cruiser and was designed for fire support, escort, patrol and for "bulking out" fleets (as well as special carrier and anti-starfighter variants), compartivaly cheap to make compared to other cruiser designs they were a common sight in Imperial Navy fleets, they were good all-round warships generally, but they were a little inferior in anti-starfighter duty, this was fixed by the introduction of the Méróló-class anti-starfighter cruiser, a modified Úyúló-class which had turbolasers removed and replaced with laser cannons and point-defence lasers cannons.

Ships of this class served during the Ingzan-Bregaran Empire-Hyaxnox War of 1,028 ABY, where they proved there worth in combat. Despite being 103 years old in 1,129 ABY both sides of the Rebellion against the Ingzan-Bregaran Empire and the concurrent Dezendyan-Vás Feud used them.
