W C Steadman (12 July 1851 – 20 July 1911) was a trade unionist and Labour politician. For thirteen years he was a Labour Progressive member of the London County Council representing Tower Hamlets (Stepney), first elected in 1892, he held his seat until 1907. He was also twice a "Lib-Lab" member of parliament for London constituencies: for Stepney from 1898-1900 and for Finsbury Central from 1906-January 1910. Fabian Society member, attended the Trades Union Congress (and was president of the TUC in 1902), and General Secretary of the River Thames Barge Builders Trades Union 1879-1908.
