  • On some floors in the dungeons of Dark Cloud and Dark Cloud 2, you will find pools of water that, if you walk into them, will restore your active character to full health. If more than one character is injured, it's convenient to stand in the oasis and quickly switch to every character, allowing them all to heal. In Dark Cloud, healing springs also completely quench your character's thirst meter; they are marked on the map as a large blue circle. In Dark Cloud 2, healing springs will cure abnormal statuses; they are marked on the map as a large pink question mark.
  • Springs are used to launch the playable characters in different directions, both on the ground and through midair, to reach otherwise unreachable places or built up huge amount of running speed in short time. Springs made the debut appearance in Sonic the Hedgehog (1991) where they were originally simple red and yellow platforms, but have since taken on a more distinct design over the course of the series.
