Greetje Kauffeld is a Dutch singer who represented the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest 1961 in Cannes, France with the song Wat een dag, which finished in 10th place. During the 1970s and 1980s she released many jazz albums and had a lot of success in the Netherlands and Germany. In 1986, she formed a jazz trio and they won many awards. At the same time, she worked as a lecturer the University of the Arts in Hilversum. Since the 1990s she has continued to tour throughout Germany and remains a popular performer.
