Ralph "Scotty" Bowman (June 20, 1911, in Winnipeg, Manitoba – October 17, 1990) was a professional ice hockey defenceman who played 7 seasons in the National Hockey League for the Ottawa Senators, St. Louis Eagles and Detroit Red Wings. Bowman started out with the junior Niagara Falls Cataracts of the Ontario Hockey Association from 1930-33. He then turned pro with the Ottawa Senators in 1933-34. Bowman played four full seasons and parts of two others for the Wings. They won the Stanley Cup in 1935-36 and 1936-37. In 274 NHL games, Bowman scored 8 goals and 25 assists.
