During the Dominion War, Lyran stormtroopers (and hence Lyran Starfleet Security) gained, in the Cardassian Union, a reputation for poor marksmanship. However, by the 25th century, poor marksmanship was the single largest cause of failure at the Academy, accounting for over 90% of all expulsions from the Academy.
