The Mycelium was an evil plant-like creature that commanded fungi at Camp Opinicon and two of his victims were Ben and Grandpa Max. Ben fought him as Wildvine, but it did not work. Soon, he dropped his bottle of Athlete's Foot Powder into his mouth, killing him and the fungal warriors.

  • The Mycelium was an evil plant-like creature that commanded fungi at Camp Opinicon and two of his victims were Ben and Grandpa Max. Ben fought him as Wildvine, but it did not work. Soon, he dropped his bottle of Athlete's Foot Powder into his mouth, killing him and the fungal warriors.
  • The mycelium of the fungal species Prototaxites stellaviatori was made up of exotic material found not only in normal space but in a discrete subspace domain known as the mycelial network, that spanned the universe. Spore drive used mycelium spores from this species to travel along the mycelial network. (DIS: "Choose Your Pain")
  • Mycelium is a very rare grass block variant that appears naturally only in Mushroom Biomes. Although it is rare, some can make a mushroom farm a very easy affair. Mycelium, unlike Grass, cannot grow plants (excluding mushrooms). Once a block of mycelium is obtained, it can be used to convert grass blocks into more mycelium over a period of time. This happens regardless of light level. Mobs can spawn on mycelium, however; that particular effect applies only in the Mushroom biome.
  • Mycelium excretes exoenzymes which can kill living tissue (necrotrophic) and then absorb that dead material (saprotrophic), simply absorbing material that was already dead (again, saprotrophic), or by feeding off of living tissue (biotrophic).
  • Mycelium is a block similar to grass, and it will grow over any dirt in its area even if the dirt blocks have a sapling or another plant on it. It is only found naturally in mushroom biomes. A mycelium's spread can be stopped by creating an obstruction to the Mycelium's expansion, such as a two-block change in terrain height or a non-dirt block.
  • Mycelium is a Block that was added in Update 0.9.0. It is similar to Dirt; however, there is a purplish layer of 'fungi' on it. They spawn exclusively in Mushroom Biomes. Mushrooms can be planted on Mycelium regardless of the light level.
