The Violent Apostasy is the ninth full-length album from English doom metal band Black Widow, released on May 27th 2008. It is the first and only to feature Anders Jacobsen of Yggdrasill Burning on drums, who filled in for Christopher Bradham from 2006 shortly after Macabre Crucifixion, due to a leg injury. The song "Not Human" features vocals from Mandragoria's Isabella Candelini, aka Mina. It is preceded by 2006's Macabre Crucifixion and followed by 2009's Dread Summer Mourning, the band's latest album.
