| - Manticores are highly aggressive and extremely venomous scorpion-like insects from the continent of Essos.
- The wings of a bat, the body of a lion, the fury of Khaine. Manticores are great beasts used in warfare by Dark Elf Beastmasters. Manticores are found in Naggaroth's northernmost mountains where they are the apex predators. They are revered by some Dark Elves who see them as one of Khaine's many thousand aspects. Occasionally they are used in battle as mounts by Beastmasters, evidence of that professions mastery over all tiers of Naggorothi wildlife. Less often they are the prized mounts of Dark Elf lords and Sorceresses.

Less often they are the prized mounts of Dark Elf lords and Sorceresses. Like Dark Pegasi they are sourced from the Chaos Wastes where shades travel to raid their dwellings. Even when "tamed", Manticores remain remarkably feral; in battle they are often disobedient.
