Orphaned and alone, a young Kar'gosh relied on his wits and found himself in the plains of Mulgore, where he was taken in by Sark Ragetotem and was rechristened Tal Ragetotem. He was raised in the Tauren tribe's traditional ways and became an incredible warrior. Around the time of the founding of the new Horde, which the Tauren were a part of, he joined the Horde's army, once again taking his birthname Kar'gosh, and became well-known within Durotar, quickly rising through the ranks. During the Horde Civil War, Warchief Garrosh Hellscream branded Kar'gosh a traitor and sought to have him executed, but he eluded his would-be assassins and joined the rebellion led by Thrall and fought side-by-side with him during the Siege of Ogrimmar.
