Turbocarts were vehicles, similar to railcars, which were used in mines such as the Cloud Mountain mines to rapidly move people and materials through the mine complexes. They were essentially modified speeders that ran above magnetic rails. The turbocarts in Cloud Mountain had only two settings—stop and go. The go setting caused the cart to move at 120 kilometers an hour to the opposite end of the mines from where it started. These carts had the capacity for four passengers. The bottom of the Cloud Mountain mines could be reached in two minutes by this conveyance.
