Union Sportive de Nantua, a French sports club, fielded an ice hockey team during the early 1900s. Club members skated on the frozen Lake Nantua during the winter months, and also utilized frozen tennis courts for practice. U.S. Nantua faced FC Lyon for the 1909 Lyonnais Championship. They fell 12-0 to the more experienced side, which had obtained several former SC Lyon players. A Lyonnais Championship was also scheduled for February 20, 1910; with Nantua slated as one of the three participants. However, no record of the competition actually taking place exists.
