| - The Lures of Passion was an ancient Sith document authored by Har'esh Volen. As one of the many scrolls written by Volen, The Lures of Passion discussed the nature of the dark side in high levels of detail. The tome discussed the temptations of the dark side, specifically the passions and desires people could possess that may result in an addictive devotion to this aspect of the Force's nature. The text was the most prominent and successful of all of Volen's writings, as the insight it provided onto the dark side's lure proved to be both informative and insightful. Multiple copies of the document were written over the years, many of which wound up in Sith or Jedi archives for private study. For his own reason, Volen would also relate a few of his own personal theories and beliefs in the book's texts. Though intended for aspiring young Sith, an edited version of The Lures of Passion would also be kept by Jedi so as to better understand the temptations that lead to the dark side. In order to make it less dangerous for younger Jedi, a number of sections were cut out of the Jedi's version of the document. Several comments were also added to this version of the book by esteemed Jedi masters, including statements from Grand Masters such as Satele Shan, Yoda and Luke Skywalker.
