Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir #1 is the first of the four-issue comic miniseries Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir. The comic is based on unproduced scripts from the sixth season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and would have become an episode if the show had not been cancelled in early 2013. Because they are based on official scripts overseen and co-developed by George Lucas, the comics are considered an official part of Star Wars canon.

| - Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir #1 is the first of the four-issue comic miniseries Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir. The first issue takes place in the aftermath of the events of the fifth season episode "The Lawless," when Darth Maul became leader of the Mandalorian group known as Death Watch, which took over the planet Mandalore. The episode concluded with a lightsaber duel between Darth Sidious, Darth Maul, and Savage Opress, the latter of whom was killed by the Dark Lord. Sidious captured Maul and revealed he had plans for his former apprentice, and the comic picks up after Maul's capture.
