- Terry Gilliam is an American-born British screenwriter, film director, animator, actor and member of the Monty Python comedy troupe. Gilliam's films have a distinctive look not only in mise-en-scene but even more so in photography, often recognizable from just a short clip; in order to create a surreal atmosphere of psychological unrest and a world out-of-balance, Gilliam makes frequent use of unusual camera angles. The only "Python" not born in Britain, he became a naturalized British citizen in 1968. In 2006 he formally renounced his American citizenship.
- Spending someone else's millions on elaborate, wacky, surreal sets and demanding that every nuance of his brilliant final draft description be faithfully rendered in materials, he surprises everyone involved when he does manage to complete a project. If anyone ever suggests he save money by rendering some of his bizarre visions in CGI, he shoots them in the face.
- Terrence Vance Gilliam (born November 22, 1940) is an American-born British filmmaker, animator, and member of the Monty Python comedy troupe. Gilliam has the distinction of being the only American-born Python, as the rest of the group are all native Britons.
- Terrence Vance Gilliam was the only American in the Monty Python troupe (although he does have British citizenship) but added the most surreal elements of the show through his many animations. As the series progressed he also did many small roles the other actors didn't want to perform for various reasons, and had very few speaking parts (one of his most notable lines is "I want more beans!" He was also Cardinal Fang of the Spanish Inquisition). He also wrote a number of the sketches, and from there co-wrote the troupe's three films based on original material with the rest of the troupe; he also co-directed Monty Python and The Holy Grail and directed the opening segment of The Meaning of Life, "The Crimson Permanent Assurance".
