This design has been so successful and is starting to be noticed both in the cities and in the country, as a dependable survival instrument. Noel Bourke has been making Sola Kooka's by hand for over 15 years. He makes several types of Kookas, ranging in temperature from 165 °C (329 °F) to 200 °C (392 °F). In 2010 he has been granted a provosional patent on his Sola Kookas, protecting his intellectual property right. He continues making Sola Kooka's where he lives in Perth, Heathridge, and produces approximately 45 cookers per year.
