abstract
| - Herbert Woolridge was a Dranian politician of the right-wing Grand National Party formerly serving as Speaker of the Parliament. From April 3376 to May 3378, he was also acting Prime Minister of Dranland following the resignation of Marina LeCoultre. Prior to his political career he was a well-known economist and essayist who rose to fame for his theories on monetary policy, stating that the government should stop trying to boost prosperity by stimulating demand, calling this approach "poisonous". Instead, he argued in favor of less economic fluctuation and the avoidance of booms and busts through the abolition of the central bank and a monetary gold standard. He also made the case for imposing stricter regulations on banks, which he accused of "producing massive amounts of fiat money through reckless lending". Woolridge self-describes as an "advocate of a truly free market". While being in office as Prime Minister, he accompanied President Sosuke Mori on a state visit to Solentia. In May 3378, his caretaker administration was replaced with a GNP-PAC-PP coalition.
